You need to take care of yourself there. Your health is the most important thing..If you don't mind me saying you're looking a little run down.. It's easy to let yourself go.. Remember, cheap living is not always the best for your health.. especially out in the middle of nowhere.. I'm sure you dont have any good hospitals for really serious health problems. As we age, that becomes a top priority..

Not a bad breakdown of your cost. The things here in the Philippines keep going up in price. My wife and I budget 100,000 pesos a month. Not including our health insurance or any vacations. Sometimes we can do it and sometimes we need a little extra. We live in Lipa Batangas area.

Boiling water may kill the bacteria that could make you sick right away, but it does not remove the heavy metals and arsenic and other bad things in the water that could take decades to accumulate and cause you serious problems later in life. Please consider bottled water for cooking. Take care buddy, wishing you all the best there in the province.

Thats about what we pay in electric and we have about the same but we do have a washing machine. we have a water dispenser we use with the jugs. The water is pumped in from a well in the school yard. The good thing its a private source and not part of the public water pumps. when the public source had problems they came to us as ours was unaffected. It depends on lifestyle and preparation before you move.

In Pavia, Iloilo the average cost of refilling our water bottles is P20. As for the electricity, electric fan, security camera's, electric fence, large refrigerator & electric induction cook top, microwave, all lights are LED, P1800. And of course I have to have foods that I like to eat. Rent is P0. Yearly property tax is about P10,500. Wifes or sister in-laws cooking is free. Gasoline for my 8 passenger Tuk-tuk is about P1800 p/m. Chicken & duck feed, P2880. Unreliable fibre internet with PLDT, P1880. Groceries are about the same as your spending. And of course I am converting Canadian money to peso's which seems to have not varied more than 2 cents up or down in the last 4 years from an average of P42.6 to our dollar. Your doing good Brian, keep it up. Just sayin

The Filipino loan. I've known about this for 30+ years. THEY like to say it's a loan but WE know there is never an expectation of paying back. Which is perfectly fine if you understand Filipino culture. Try explaining that to a white who has never been to the Philippines or been with Filipino family. A lot of guys on here don't get certain things, but if they gonna be with a Filipina YOU BETTER LEARN.😊

You should have a little file or binder book. Write down names dates and reasons for all the extra money given to people. Then at the end of one year give the rundown as to the total given and some of the interesting reasons. Maybe keep track of the return labor or nice deeds the others have given you in return. Helped you out ..

That is cool to see such size of family can live on such budget in the Philippines. I would be happy if only me and my wife could spend this much and live comfortably here in the Seychelles like your size of family. Seychellois are like Philippinos no rice it is an incomplete meal. It seems rice are way cheaper there than here. Me and my wife we use around 8 kg of rice a month and this costs us around 1500 pesos depend on the brand we buy. The amount of people eatimg rice three times a day here I think one third of your budget will be just for buying rice here

I don’t see how you are saving money, you compare the old house that was complete to an unfinished house that needs a lot of work and money. Maybe in a year when the house is complete you can compare cost. Don’t see any cost for healthcare, one major health problem could cost you big money. 0:03

Hi bro We live comfortably on approx 20K/22K PHP per month here in the province. We don't have rent/mortgage as we built our new home this year. We don't have electricity bill either as we 100% solar off-grid. We would easily be spending 10 to 12K PHP per month. Appliances we have on solar - 3 TV's, 1 large ref, 3 x A/C, water cooler, microwave, electric ceramic hob, electric fan assisted oven, kettle, 4 x fans and washing machine. Expenditure - Food 12K Wifi.1.4K Water bill 300 PHP Drinking water 200 PHP Eating out 3K PHP Fuel 1K PHP Entertaining at home 3K PHP. Cheers

Brian to help beat the high cost of inflation and living remotely that's like we doing the Backwoods in America we homesteaders in the Old Timers since the beginning make your own handles improvised make them out of little sticks or seashells or something use your imagination😅 nowadays you probably have a power drill where you can just take a screw and screw the thing on to the drawer and make it rustic and cool that's exactly what I will do make everything myself but I will have the natives help build me a bamboo Style small house cooking on wood building everything myself raising a couple pigs chickens Muscovy ducks going fishing

With 58 pesos is $1.72 as shown, so your only getting 34 pesos for $1 there. That's Crazy That's about the same exchange in Thailand of Baht for $1 I'm glad your saving so much on other expenses like Electric & rent by with a 41% reduction of your exchange rate buying power there.
