Philly.....you had chicken pox (herpes varicella virus) as a kid. The virus goes through a latent ( sleep) stage and resides in the ganglionic neurons. (Nerves) It sometimes comes back to haunt you in old age as Herpes Zoster if you have low immunity. There are anti-viral creams to treat the shingles rash. There is a vacination for shingles called Shingrix with 90% at preventing shingles. There are also anti-viral tablets such as Aciclovir, Famciclovir and Valaciclovir...etc

That unit is probably clogged. I have three of them and hate em. Every few weeks I have to power wash the outdoor unit clogged with soot from all the fires here. The indoor unit is the same, clog with dirt and mold. The drain hose fills and clogs with a bacteria slime that backs up and starts leaking over the TV. Central air is superior to these dog mini splits. We do not open windows either.

couple men and a truck do exist for the right bling haha . my main aircon went down do to a lizard frying the mother board down a month waiting to get a new one thank god we too have a separate unit in the bed room or i would have melted hahaha. iwould think the kids will adapt just fine the real question is how well you will adapt.
