First Bangalore population don’t just include IT employees Second there are many couples who have less expenses just because they choose lower rent away from so called IT hubs… WFH so IT require more comforts 🙄 Third the harsh truth - Bangalore is costly because of IT people

With today’s inflation 50K is quite ok in city like Bengaluru but, if we include kids education then need to add 12K to 16k per month extra for each kid…we are family of 6, including my father, mother and 2 kids and 2 dogs, mostly our expenses will touch 50k every month excluding school fee and other emergency expenses though we are staying in our own House.

rent is the worst part in bengaluru. The benefits of gym, swimming pool, etc are rarely used by most of the people. Even houses without these are higher, its is tough to get places below 20k in bengaluru. other costs are well managed. tips with OTT, can subscribe in round robin style. one by one. watch them then renew the other.

Some of your costs are way off. Monthly exp of 3000 for groceries is too low. It will easily hit 7000 to 8000 for two people (unless you totally shun processed food of any type and limit urself to buying just vegetables and fruits only). Eating out for 3000 is also too low unless you drink an occasional coffee outside. It will easily hit 10000 if u eat out once a week

@@IndianMillennialWife HI. At first thanks for bringing up such an imp topic for discussion. You told you have excluded certain non recurring/occassional expenses from the 50k per month. Let's assume that averages 30k per month. So total exp 80k per m. With savings of 170k per m, I think it is not at all a challenge for you to buy a flat with a budget of 1.5 crore. For this I think the emi works out to be 100k per m. Still you will be left with savings of 70k per m. That's damn good unless there is increase in commitments...

@@ABCDZ001 thank you for the detailed analysis . Yes we were thinking of it , but we are also aware that we wanna have a kid soon and that might set us back a bit if I decide to take a 2 year sabbatical from work . That’s why currently we are investing as much as possible Also we are not sure we will live in Bangalore forever , we would also be open to any opportunity abroad for some years and then come So have not decided about home yet
