I am so rooting for riverstar se bc Riverclan was kinda already formed in a loose “a few cats who fish and chill” way before the tribe cats showed up, and is the only clan we never got a look at from a POV character in DOTC, it’s also worth exploring how he used his experience in the park to codify the mentor system and also his very lax and peacemaking attitude is something so different from the modern “start a battle over a squirrel” attitude in the clans

I want a novella about Nightpelt/Nightstar. Poor guy had a tough life and he was present during a very chaotic time during Shadowclan's history and idk, i just think his POV would be interesting!

Honestly the only way I think an Ivypool SE would work is her having to bond with Dovewing over their kits going to the Dark Forest, and her dealing with the stress and horror of her own daughter repeating her path.

Honestly, Ivypool winning might be a disappointment to the community. Sure, we can live in hope and assume the writers will do their best for the character, but Ivypool is just so popular that lots of people have their own headcanons/fanfics already, and people will likely get salty if a new Ivypool story isn't absolutely perfect. I'd love to see Ivypool get some much-needed attention and maybe even become deputy, but a special edition for her would be treading on an uneven ground of audience expectations.

I just want a super addition about Goldenflower. I know there is definitely cats who deserve a super addtion more than her but I just want to see her pov during the whole Tigerstar situation.

I voted Riverstar because I really like Dawn of the Clans and I want more books focused on it. He doesn’t have much as a character through the arc and I’d like to see more of his personality. Ivypool already had an arc of her POV and Mistystar already has a novella. I really wanna see Riverstar win, but Ivypool wouldn’t be horrible either. 🙂

omg finally someone brings up lionblaze’s recent development. suddenly he seems like such an interesting character with many paths to go down and im really hoping that things go to his head and he becomes a ‘good guy gone bad.’ or at least have consequences pile on as he continues to act abrasively

My opinions- Mistystar- N o Ivypool- Cool, but maybe just a Novella like Dovewing Riverstar- I want

honestly... in my opinion, a re-telling of River Ripple's life since he was a kit would be my best-case-scenario. He had a bonus scene at the end of Thunder Rising, which gave me just enough tiny facts to want *more.* Before he was forced into the forest, River Ripple had a sense of routine. We know that the cats of the park lived in a consistent group together, had mentors, and meditated. That stuff is *interesting!* I want to know more about it! How did their lives work? How did they treat each other? What problems did they face? Did River Ripple ever see any of his former friends or family again? I want a more in-depth explanation to his gratitude towards the water. I want something *new.* My worst-case scenario is that they add unnecessary romance to his character, like they did with Leopardstar and Frogleap.

I hope Riverstar's book is about him learning now to deal with being leader and understanding Clan life. He was the only founder who didn't previously life in a tribe group and it never seemed like he knew a lot about their culture. He was also the most peaceful, despite never really asking to be a leader. He got involved with the tribe cat drama simply because he walked up to Four trees that one time.

DOTC is my favorite arc (I’m one of not many) and I really like Riverstar. I feel like Riverstar is the best choice bc we know so much about Ivypool and Mistystar but Riverstar never got that much screentime. They could write the book on anything and have it not be written about stuff we’ve already read. And he’s like my 3rd favorite leader so please..

After just reading AVoS, Ivypool is pretty insufferable (much like other characters this arc) towards Dovewing. She was nice enough to Twigbranch as a mentor but I really can't stand her angst at Dovewing for being with Tigerheartstar. You literally trained in Hell with murderers but moving clans is just too far? Edit: remembered the part when ivy and dove let their kits play and that was a sweet scene. Doesn't change my opinion that we've had enough from her perspective and I still think river ripple will be cooler

If its not Riverstar ima throw a fit. He has so much potential plus idk why but I would love to see him refuse to take a mate or something

Ah, damn, I wish they gave us an option on voting for a Barley super edition, I just love him so much and his backstory would be so much fun to read about

I’d enjoy Riverstar the most because they can write any story about him and make it work, and even a half decent story would benefit riverclan at this point. Riverclan’s culture is so undeveloped that they could say riverclan cats could hunt badgers at this point and I wouldn’t bat an eye, which will be especially good for the next arc(unless you know, it’s a traveling book). Ivypool becoming deputy would work(I guess) but that would raise its own issues like Squirrelflight having to retire for one. Then again, that seems inevitable and I’d rather have her than Lionblaze. It really has been long since a female leader has been important and I’d just like to see how they’d act in certain situations in comparison to the toms who’ve never been queens.

River Ripple has been my little 'I like this character because I feel like it' boy for a while now and seeing him perhaps get a SE both scares and excites me at the same time. As Moon stated it's a pretty win-win situation, but the ever growing anxiety of them ruining what little personality he has haunts me at night.

I kinda want to see Ivypool so she can resolve her feelings and stuff. Also, did anybody else find it weird that they made her daughter, Bristlefrost, a deputy for the impostor? Like, a much younger, much less experienced warrior compared to her mother. Her mother who fought in the Dark Forest, worked as a spy for the clans, and is known for being a great warrior of Thunderclan got passed up for her much more inexperienced daughter. I'd like to see Ivypool's feelings about that. Edit: Well, now Ivypool has even more feelings to resolve. Poor Bristlefrost, she did not deserve to meet her demise that way😢

Even before the botting, it was surprising to see how many votes riverstar was getting, it was really nice to see a character we don't know much about get as much attention as he was getting! :]

This is making me want a Ivypool novella where she does something with Shadowsight(AND MAYBE HIS SIBLINGS OR MAYBE HER OWN CHILDREN HINT HINT???????) and they bond (Like Tawnypelt and Dovewing in that one novella)

I'd accept any of these (scared if Mistystar wins). I want Riverripple the most cause I'd love to see focus on Riverclan in Dawn of the Clans what the heck are they doing in there. Ivypool would be fun cause there is a lot they could do... if they actually do it.... and also Fernsong :3

At some point (I think the ultimate guide but IDK for sure) it's mentioned that Riverstar was the one who invented the mentor/apprentice system and I would love if they went into detail about that, or even mentioned it

While I would be more interested in a good Ivypool book over Riverstar, I don't trust the writing team to deliver anything great, if they butcher Riverstar, it doesn't impact the main series at least, which is a dumpster fire already

I really think that Riverstar would be a great super edition. He has a different personality to most generic cats (DOTC is good for developing individual personality anyways, but he seems different in a way), that could be used in loads of cool interesting ways in a super edition for him. Honestly though, I’d love a super edition on some of the main side characters (like thrushpelt for example) because that could develop the main books/other SEs more by giving a more broad perspective on them, and different POVs similar events. If they did a Thrushpelt SE, it could be a great addition for Bluestars Prophecy, because he is used a lot in that book and it would be good to see his perspective on things.

My kneejerk was Ivypool too but like... You're right. The only nagging thing left in Ivypool's arc is to wrap up her resentment towards Dovewing, but Im not sure we'll ever see that because I think Ivypool is a character that the writers, and most of the fandom, thinks is completely in the right, even tho it's kind of childish to be like 35 and still pissed that your adult sister moved in with her boyfriend that loves and cares for her deeply in a neighborhood where people won't hate her for having illegal kids even though she's at LEAST 1/3 of the reason that Cat Hell isn't currently running the show. I would love to see Ivypool come to realize Dovewing's struggles and just how much she gave up and realize that the most important thing is that Dovewing is happy, instead of having the same gripe of "We're supposed to do everything together where are you going" when Ivy is like 35 and married with kids. And don't get me wrong! I would love that, but I don't think we'd get it. And Mistystar.... eeehhh. I don't care for Misty. So that leaves River Ripple, who is probably gay.

River Ripple, from the moment he was introduced, was just oozing with personality. I loved him from the start. It was a shame he got so little attention in dotc, but I'm really hoping they can make up for it now...in a good way.

Honestly despite Ivypool being one of my favorite characters, I want to see Riverstar have his own book. I'd love to see some more attention on dawn of the clans and there's not many ways a new story with new characters can go horribly worng. Also Riverstar stands out to me a bit with the DoC leaders, it'd be interesting to learn more about his way of thinking as compared to the other fledgling clans.

Rrngh I really wanna see Ivypool on the cover of a whole freakin super edition but I just don’t trust the Erin’s enough to make an entire 400-500 page book about her interesting. A novella like Dovewing’s Silence that takes place in between arcs would be perfect imo 🙏

Also, Ivypool should be deputy. I disliked Lionblaze before he was deputy for no reason, after that, I hate him. And I want more DoTC, but I don't care about Riverstar, I want a next generation sequel arc. Plus, Ivypool is one of my favourite character, I have bias. what I'm hoping for in this possible super edition is that lion blaze is almost deputy but like everyone realizes how super toxic he is and then ivypool can get some character development and they realize that she's the best choice for deputy

I'm okay with either Ivy or River getting one, but if River gets one, I would really REALLY like a Novella or something for Ivypool just... because things were left so sad and open-ended with Dove just leaving her after all they went through int heir OOTS arcs. Like hey I'm glad things are changing to where Dove can make that choice and move, but having that resolution (if any) between them happen offscreen is really devaluing to their entire relationship, and to us fans who got to see them grow up and develop together :( I love the new books but my main gripe is they're still telling old characters' stories through the eyes of a new generation.

Can we talk about how much of a genuine joy it is for me to watch Moonkitti? No matter what the topic is, I could listen to her for hours.

Something I would love to see for an Ivypool super edition would be a post broken code book where ThunderClan is trying to figure out what to do. Right now I think that it is very likely that both Bramblestar and Squirrelflight (and possibly even Lionblaze) could die at the end of broken code. This would create a massive power vacuum in ThunderClan that could easily drive the plot for a super edition. There could be two, three or even four cats all trying to become the next leader of ThunderClan; especially if StarClan is still cut off. Imagine if there were no leader, no deputy, and the medicine cats cannot communicate with StarClan. You could even do something like Akira said where there is an external threat that forcibly ends the conflict and forces ThunderClan to rally behind someone

I want a Riverstar SE and Ivypool and Onestar novellas. A novella could be good for Ivypool and I would love one for Onestar. I don’t know who the third character in their set would be though. They did a novella for Blackstar when he lost the SE poll so I’m guessing they do have intents and ideas of making books for these poll characters but want to know which ones should be full on SE’s and which should just be novellas.

Honestly I really think River Ripple should win this poll. Misty had a novella, Ivy had an entire series and was a mentor of a main character AND the mother of another, and River has literally one epilogue… so yeah…. Also I just really love Dawn of the Clans and don’t think it gets enough love. Ivypool would be a good second choice but I think Riverstar has so much more to tell. We barely get anything about ancient RiverClan apart from the couple of chapters Gray Wing stayed and Riverstar’s epilogue. Alright thanks for reading my rant goodbye.

I want Riverstar for sure. He has the most to tell. I do really want an Ivypool Novella though. A short story showing her perspective on Dovewing leaving ThunderClan for ShadowClan because of Tigerheartstar and all that plus the imposter rising to power in ThunderClan and how Bristlefrost seems to be a traitor and all that would be interesting to read. So like a Novella about her taking place from the end of River of Fire to Veil of Shadows would be quite interesting to me. I'm not sure it would need a whole Super Edition though.

I'm rooting for River Ripple/star because we already saw Ivypool's pov throughout oots, and Mistystar is just, no. We've only seen River Ripple's pov in one addition scene on how he got his name. Especially sense he was a calmer, more laid-back character, so he never strongly expresses his opinion. And because he is already the sweetest thing anyway.

Mistystars book should be about her getting dimentia and not knowing whats going on. But you cant make leader an elder. Imagine that. Going "crazy" like her mother did

I’m compelled to vote Riverstar because I feel like he would have the best story to tell, but considering the fact that I loved Squirrelflight and Crowfeather’s supers and didn’t even give Hawk Wing or Moth Flight a chance, I doubt I would ever read River Ripple’s either.

I love that I watched this whole video and even considered voting before I realized I have no intention of reading this book no matter what character it focuses on. Haven't read a super edition since Bluestar's Prophecy, and I don't see that changing anytime soon!

so i recognize that riverstar is a popular character whos entire life we know mostly nothing about, and should the next super edition be about him i will read it and enjoy it just like anyone else, but also i adore ivypool. i know a super edition with her would give us almost nothing new except for ivypools thoughts during times she wasnt narrating a chapter. i still really want it! itd make me happy, if not most of the fandom lol

The only Mistystar content I genuinely would want would be about her life before becoming a warrior. Her thoughts and opinions about suddenly being dropped into the middle of Riverclan camp as a kit, her slowly forgetting her previous life or wondering about it. I always thought it was a bit odd that it seemed like Stonekit and Mistykit just... Didn't seem to mention Thunderclan at all?? Unless I'm forgetting some key plot they just didn't really talk much about Thunderclan despite being raised for a small part of their lives there. I also wonder what they thought of Thrushpelt. These could be things brought up in the book and explained, I think it would be pretty interesting to see that! However, I think it would be best for a novella and not a super edition. Yes, Mistystar already has a novella but I mean in my opinion it wasn't the most interesting and could have instead been a Mothwing novella So yeah. Thoughts on Mistystar even though this is a year old at this point. I think we can all agree that Riverstar is perfect and wonderful and can do no wrong unless the warriors team somehow mess up this cat with so much potential and so much empty space. I genuinely don't know how the erins could screw up Riverstar, I mean I don't doubt their ability to mess things up but c'mon it has to take effort to mess up this cat book

My guess is that the Erins expected Ivypool to win, so they hadn't really thought through a Riverstar super edition that hard. That's probably why Riverstar is getting a super edition in 2023 and Onestar is getting the 2022 super edition instead. I would love if maybe the Riverstar super edition took place in StarClan way after he'd died, I thought an Ashfur super edition could've been good for a StarClan centric book, but Riverstar could work for it too (That probably won't happen though).

Thats really true though, IvyPool is in my top 5 favorite cats and if i could vote along in the poll i'd choose her in seconds. But thing about writing a new story based around a character who's played more of her arc then others, it makes the character and story very fragile with the story you tell, especially with how liked of a character she is. So if she does win, herray! Cant wait to read it, but if she doesn't, its just not the right time in her story yet, so.. A cat i've only read so much about before even reading dawn of the clans? I wanna book about about some random side character. Idk, just something from a non-main characters POV. How they see main conflicts, no tragic back story, no predictable angst, just a warrior living their life, going on patrols and stuff.

Imagine a Stormfur book, like what happened in the mountains during the other arcs, it sounds bad and good.

I sorta want a brightheart super edition, that takes place Tpb-tnp. Yes it'll mostly be a retelling and there's some super editions I'd want before brightheart. But I'd love to see her point of view with the dog attack, and trying to find her place in her clan, and the whole thing that happened with cloudtail becoming suspiciously close to daisy. But I'm scared that the authors are going to write it badly... Like alot of other things they've written. I believe that even though it will be sorta a retelling and unnecessary, I feel like it could be an amazing book with good character development and some extra details. (Maybe a subplot that we didn't see in the main series book, but isn't so important that it ruins the main series books aswell As the super edition.) Also a barley novella. Because we know from the field guides that he was in blood clan, and apparently he was living with his sister there. Scourge didn't want cats living together, because he was scared of the rebelling. Barley and his sister lived together, and scourge found out and almost killed her. Barley brought her to live with two legs and saved her life. I'd like to see barley's day-to-day life in blood clan.

Literally Ivypool is one of my favorite characters and I haven't even read really any DOTC books yet and of these choices, I still want riverstar the most 😵 Yet there are SO many other cats I desperately want to have super editions/ novellas that probably never will :')

I actually think it be cool to see Mistystar's story tell from a few of another character Introducing a old character in more detail, watching them struggle with how Riverclan is going. While it be similar to Bluestar's fall it be more interesting because we would be learning about thier connections slowly and in fresh light. It would show how riverclan sees eachother and thier leadership. Maybe through a character that will be connected to the next arcs rc protag? Or maybe a character who struggles as Mistystar , Reedwhisker, or both die in the beginning and must learn to take on leadership duties they weren't expecting. This could lean into the next arcs innerclan struggles and maybe give the new protag a cat to trust that we know connects with them.

I really want the Erins to focus on characters who are more in need of lore than anyone else - I simply don't understand how we could get any more lore out of Ivypool and Mistystar, meanwhile I'm just bored by DOTC - So I'm waiting on a Heatherstar super edition or a Heavystep super edition.
