The whole thing was a sham! I defy anyone to listen to a death metal/thrash metal song, and actually make out the lyrics! It´s impossible! You can´t understand the lyrics in a genre where the singer just grouls and groans. And this coming from a metal fan! The only way to understand the lyrics is to read them on the album cover, something that very few bands did. The lyrics are irrelevant. It´s all about the "sound", the riffs, and the beat. Back in the late 80s i was in my teens and listening to Venom´s "In league with Satan" 20 times a day, and i NEVER even once thought they meant it. All i cared about was the sound. Religion is for fools. There used to be a church of Jeovah´s Witnesses meeting in a basement in front of my apartment every sunday. I used to play that song with my stereo connected to my Peavey guitar amp placed in the window, just to screw with them. 🤣

Love Morbid Angel, but Dave really is kind of a dick. Met him at a show about 10 years back, just seemed snooty and too good to talk to ppl. Condescending attitude. The guys in Cannibal Corpse are wayyyyyyy more friendly and down to earth.
