Love watching your videos. I am beginning to learn so much. Have had spaniels in the past and realise just where I went wrong. Training the owner is half the battle! Love another cocker but it is so important to learn the right way before contemplating getting one. No desire to let a new puppy down, certainly need to learn from past mistakes. Love the Mordor ethos, please keep these coming, so enjoyable, informative and great to see how your puppies progress. Thank you

This was great to watch. Hope you all had a great festive season. Wanted to say thank you… used the ‘Run Away’ today with our ‘new to us’ rescue, Sable (1.5y black GSD x lab)… it worked a treat. Really intensified her engagement. I was suddenly the most interesting thing out there. Your videos and attitude have helped me immensely with Sable. ‘The Charlie Thorburn Way’ - you heard it here first, and when a book is written, I’ll be happy with a signed 1st edition 😂😂 All the best for the next chapter (2024) Steve Mac. Great video, looking forward to the next one. We don’t own a puppy yet but we’re looking forward to getting our first. I grew up with Springers and golden retrievers but I think a cocker will be the best choice for us…my partner is still yet to be convinced about gun dogs though. These videos will hopefully help!

Can you please give some tips for the first few weeks ie 8-12 weeks. How soon to use lead and what to do when you have a manager puppy that is independent and not particularly focussed on you. Please. Thank you

I've had Labradors since the mid 90's but i learnt a few things so thank you My current Labrador is my 4th and is 8 months old and the only complaint i can have is he is obsessed with sticks 😂

Enjoying the videos it's nice just to sit and watch a few dogs on the TV. Interesting seeing how others train and steal a few ideas lol. I work spaniels shooting over them on the fells (and over the border in the Yorkshire Dales on the rabbits) few tests and trials along the way. Long time since I've had a lab, twenty years I guess so nice little catch up as I think I fancy getting one to join the standing about squad for a while +ska pickers up) Just out of interest I think you said you were in the Borders (I may have that wrong) and wondered if you worked with or were influenced by Edward Martin, I noticed you used similar phrases to him in this video and the one with the cocker in the wood. Just curious that's all ......or nosey take your pick. Again thanks for the videos something to watch with my cuppa

Thanks, Charlie. Lovely black baby boy. 😍 Would like your opinion on neutering male dogs. We have no intention of breeding but no behavioural issues - should we leave well alone or just easier to have a neutered dog if the plan is to go out and about with him? Most dogs we approach on walks end up being aggressive with him and I think I read that 'intact' dogs are sometimes seen as a threat to other male dogs

I’ve got a fox red lab she’s 18 months old that just won’t settle in the house, she’s crazy. Any tips of how to calm her down a bit. When we are out in the fields she’s perfect, recall great retrieving well. Thank you for your videos

Love your videos and your set up. We are picking up our puppy Bracco Italiano HPR in a few weeks - would you say there’s anything different we should do for training compared to your videos for cocker/lab? We know they’re more independent!

Ooh I really enjoyed this one!! I’ve got my first lab pup, he’s 12 weeks old- in the house, and it was great to see you handling yours! More down time for our Angus as per your advice- he’s getting leggy as you described. He’s a cracking pup- lovely level nature and easy to train. Looking forward to some more lab videos Charlie 🤩
