Music Demos of my Budget Open Baffle Speakers.

Other Equipment: Onkyo TX-DS898THX Receiver
Topping BC3 Bluetooth Receiver(LDAC codec)
Galaxy Z-Flip cell phone(LDAC codec)
Recording Equipment:Tascam DR-2d Linear PCM Digital Recorder
2 Audio-technica AT2035 Cardioid Condenser Mics
I also had to move my mics closer to the speakers to get the gain set correctly. The speakers are 5 feet from each other, and the mics are 5 feet from the speakers.

Final thoughts: I did get these dialed in a little tighter. Definitely recorded them better. I am still a little surprised of what I can pull out of these cheap speakers. With a little EQ-ing they do sound pretty good. When I play high quality music through them (Not the free for use stuff) I do get a larger sense of space and depth to the sound stage. The woofers and bass sounds fast and articulate like my main system. Enough so to delve deeper into the "Dark Side" of box-less speaker. A $200+ OB Speaker Build is in the works. More to come!

Nice Donnie! They sound great! A lot cheaper than building the NX-Oticas. I’m looking into building some open baffles from scratch. My Encores are still going strong.

Thanks. I've done a few more open baffle sets with my last set sounding quite nice. Have been working and enjoying small desktop builds lately. Have fun out there.

This is better than I thought it would be. How do these compare to your GR speakers. Also where did you get the dimensions/crossover plan?

I designed them. They are nowhere near the quality and design mastery of the GR Research Kits. I tweaked them with some major EQ and got them to sound decent for $120 pair of speakers. Hey Donny I watch KZfaq on my PC witch is my digital audio on my high end system Man you should hear this I can detect the open reverb only from open baffle What are the drivers you use?

They are Goldwood GW-8004 coaxial drivers. $45 each at Parts Express. I got them for $39 each with coupons.
