@@lukestrasser haha. OK, we are certainly each entitles to love or hate different makes of farm iron. I learned to operate many lots of different tractors and implements. They have their joys and quirks.

Once the scraper is home I will hook it up and will do a video using it

@@kylechrist sweet I had a friend who had an old case dozer it was supposed to be a diesel but came with a gas 6 in it funny thing was it was all dressed as a diesel.

She can be, but sometimes she doesn't under why I do what I do

No pony motor, just electric start. Compression on the diesel was only 6.5 to 1, therefore no modification needed to run on gas

Allis Chalmers

Even as a spark ignition diesel, they only ran 6.5 to 1 compression so as far as I know they basically deleted the diesel injection pump and lines

@@ThatOliverGuyChris they exist but there is definitely a reason they don't do it anymore. From everything I have understood, spark ignition diesel engines typically had issues

Guess it wouldn't be to far off from kerosene distillate. I bet plugs fouling was an issue.

@@ThatOliverGuyChris this is from the allis chalmers forum: In addition to std. diesel fuel injection system, it also has a magneto and special spark plugs. Rather than rely solely on compression to ignite the diesel fuel sprayed into the cylinder via the injectors, Allis Chalmers designed these crawler engines with a magneto to ignite the diesel fuel in a more uniform, smoother, ideal ignition timing vs. relying only on compression and diesel injection timing. Starting the tractor - Starter motor turns over engine while the operator actuates a very small "charge" of gas that is injected with the diesel fuel, the spark plugs ignite the gas/diesel mixture, then the engine runs on diesel fuel, being spark-ignited by the magneto

They are long gone and even if I found the parts, there is a reason that allis converted them back to gas

@@kylechrist Right, they weren't as efficient as full diesels, but better than gas. I'm not familiar with the issues they had but there are still some out there running on oil. It would definitely be a cool show piece, but I suppose most people don't understand the significance of the oil engines.
