North Carolinian here, a couple of things: 1) Raleigh is pronounced RAL-ey 2) The Triangle (aka the Research Triangle) area they mentioned is a real place. It’s comprised of three cities, each of which is home to some of the best universities in the country. They are: Raleigh - State capital and home to NC state university, which specializes a lot in engineering. Durham - Home to Duke University, which has good medical and engineering schools Chapel Hill - Home to UNC Chapel Hill. Very good medical school and the first publicly funded university in the USA. There’s also Research Triangle Park, a municipality that basically doesn’t belong to any county and has a bunch of both government and nongovernmental laboratories, so the virus coming from a lab there makes a lot of sense.

The “useless” home VHS tapes that don’t give skill points do a really good job at making me feel like shit for the places I loot sometimes. When you’re mindlessly breaking into houses to turn furniture into planks like it’s a Home Depot commercial, it becomes a lot more sad when you find a suicide victim in the bathroom with his kids 8th birthday VHS on him or on the TV stand. These otherwise unremarkable zombies had lives and favourite shows or recordings of notable events in their life and that gives zeds a lot of character without much effort. Also, why does the math tape give you long blunt EXP lol?

I just realised that VSH may contain the anwser to the origins of the knox county event. The 1990 outbreak was prabobly an sccusfulltest of the virus, and "asteroids" were just digused missiles with some kind of bio weapon. The first test was prabobly the Brazil bombing where they just tested if the new bio weapon actually works, the second test was preformed in Raleigh 1990, where the less hazardous version of the bio weapon was used, since the military were sccusfull in containg it.The thrid test was preformed in knox county which got out of hand and most likey coused the fall of human civilization.
