If anyone was curious, neither Polyraptor or Marauding Raptor's abilities are optional, so unless someone can get rid of the new Polyraptor or the Marauding Raptor in response to the triggers, the game ends in a draw.

@@UrsulaMajor what you're thinking of is along the lines of when Nexus of Fate was back in Standard and control players would loop Nexus but couldn't progress the board state. For things like that, where you are able to take other actions but refuse to is what can get you game losses

@@UrsulaMajor MTG comprehensive rules 104.4b: If a game that's not using the limited range of influence options somehow enters a "loop" of mandatory actions, repeating a sequence of events with no way to stop, the game is a draw. Loops that contain an optional action don't result in a draw.

@@seraf8297 Thats what I do, but if you went to a tournament or what have you, you could potentially get in trouble for having a marked card if it gets shuffled into your deck somehow (Let it go to graveyard to reanimate the next turn > Endurance)

@@BobertJoe U cant be forced to "tuck" a commander anymore. If it would move to library from a different zone you can choose to have it go to command zone instead. This is why oblation sees less play. It is optional so you could shuffle it if u didn't want it to go to the command zone.

@@BobertJoe you're right of course, even if you can always avoid tucks it can still be placed in your deck by choice becoming a marked card. I can't imagine ever willingly playing commaner in a sactioned environment tho. I have enough of the cedh players in pugs without going to them looking for the headache.

Yeah combo players have inherent advantage in polite groups. Cause even if they don't downplay things. People usually feel bad attacking people with no boardstate.

It works with magecraft to drain opponents well and ETB triggers to maybe mill/exile their decks. It just very risky from its own effect because if it gets stopped thats a gg

The dino combo was such a funny thing when it first appeared on reddit. I forget how arena handled it, but IIRC it would auto draw the game since it never stops. I love wizards inability to find standard infinite combos when they balance standard cards for standard, see Jeskai Cat combo.

During the early days of Arena, an opponent had that exact infinite combo and no way to stop it. Back then, Arena had no time limit on infinite combo’s so there was nothing stopping the combo. Since my opponent started it, logically they should be the one conceding, was my thought. After doing other stuff for 10 minutes, I finally grew impatient and conceded…

I'm sure we could name a law after the effect: In any situation where one player must concede to end the game, you will always be playing someone infinitely more stubborn than you. I know this is true because I thought I was obstinate and I still get outdone lol

I remember one time for whatever reason the timer didn’t show up while waiting to resolve a nexus of fate loop. (During the time everyone was doing it) I was like ok whatever and I left the computer for an hour to see what would happen. Came back an hour later and it was still waiting😂 Waste my time with infinite combos that don’t win and I’ll waste yours right back

Or in my play groups, the rest of us drop you from the game after congratulating you on the win while we spend another hour playing for second. You'd be surprised by how much an evening watching other people play will correct the urge to put stupid shit they can't manage in their decks.

Over the weekend I had a hand with a Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Izzet Signet and three lands along with a Dragon in my Miirym deck. First draw was a Mana Crypt. I played Crypt into Ring, floated 3 and cast Izzet Signet, used the floating 1 to activate to cast Arcane Signet... Then played my land for turn. My opponent drew, looked at his hand and fanned it out and conceded, saying there's no way he can keep up. Miirym accidental T1 win lmao

@@siradzki5905 in that particular deck, he doesn't have Crypt but he does have Mox Diamond. He also can combo off and win literally out of nowhere. Like, empty board state to winning the game because nobody can touch him.

For the combo, just make sure you don't trigger it before you have a instant creature removal spell in your hand. Then you can stop the combo whenever by targeting the red dino with the removal spell. Would work with removal abilities too.

My friend put me in a pseudo-infinite combo on accident once. I forgot the cards but I believe it went: He gains life>deals damage to me equal to life he gained>gains life equal to damage I took>rinse and repeat. It can theoretically be an infinite combo but I only had so much life.

Infinite Looping dinosaurs reminds me of the wackiest ruling for breaking Infinite loops I have ever seen in a card game. If a mandatory Infinite loop occurs a player must choose a number greater than 24,567,837 and then resolve the loop that many times. Then the loop stops triggering.

As a person getting back into Magic through commander for the first time in nearly a decade, the Polyraptor bit was me a week back. I made a Gishath, Sun's Avatar deck on a decent budget (given the commander is a 12+ on its own) and had to give in for a Polyraptor after realizing what it does with Marauding Raptor. Same reaction for giving Apex Altisaur indestructible. Edit: I have now just learned from these comments that the Polyraptor combo isn't necessarily a good thing. Still funny though.

To end the combo you need Forerunner of the Empire or something to kill Marauding Raptor. I use the Forerunner since he can search for dinos when he enters the battlefield

You have to kill the newest copy before marauding raptor's effect resolves. Without doing damage. So a kill effect or bounce.

"I love Dinosaurs so much" I really did love my Zacama deck. Didn't care how it took. One game Zacama was 17 mana before reductions 😂. 11-13 afterwards I think.
