Hey Wanja, love your videos man! I'm just wondering, what kind of kick drum head (batter) should I get that gives me a lot of attack but not so much to the point where it sounds clicky? I was looking at the Evans EMAD2 which has a lot of low end and a lot of attack but I was wanting to know what you think based on your experience. Thanks!

@wanja what brand/model are the drumbeaters your using? been using stock demon drive, but you mentioned them being to heavy so though i would try something lighter (need plastic head also) edit: saw in a prev. video you used sonar, but this ones seems different

This are Sonor beaters in this video - they only are modified to work with my Trig Mic laser trigger.

Hi Wanja. Question, do you feel that muffling the bass drum makes it easier to play? Can you play just as fast with no mufflling at all?

Drum and head? Likely pearl, head I’m not sure. Pedals are the pearl demon direct drive double bass pedals.

would you do a video of how the kickpad on the drumhead works/helps for a punchy sound in case you dont have triggers playing live. thank you bro

The kick pad that I use does not influence the sound too much. If you want a really clicky sound you should play with wood beaters or use a metal kick pad.

Das wurde ich schon öfter gefragt! Die meisten Leute hier auf yt, die meinen Channel ansehen, sind halt englischsprachig, aber vielleicht mache ich ja mal ein paar Videos auf Deutsch mit englischen Untertiteln.

Do you have to muffle...? I mean can't you just have a huge loud bassy boom as your sound and it will sound more ominous, like a huge war drum.

No, especially when playing faster stuff it would just sound blurred. So it is better to have a nice and well defined attack!

@@wanjanechtangroeger Thanks for clarifying. I wanted to get a 32 inch concert bass drum as a kick and let it roar. I didn't know about the blur. I guess in this case its better to have two muffled kicks for fast stuff and double bass (or quadruple bass) and one huge unmuffles kick for massive accents and slower stuff. Thanks for explaining and answering, sorry for the dumb question too lol.

put a blanket in it and play piss punk with the old slide technique, cover up part of the hole as you see fit :') if you don't have a hole in the back, that's your problem right there.
