There are only two Mormon temples in the world that perform what is known as a "LIVE" endowment ceremony; Salt Lake City and Manti, Utah. This video was filmed in the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple. It was filmed on two occasions in 2011 and 2012.
In place of the movie that is seen in the rest of the temples, volunteer temple workers act out all the roles in the ceremony.
If you have questions that require personal attention, contact the creator of the video at: NewNameNoah@yahoo.com or you can follow me on Twitter: @NewNameNoah
Donations to continue this effort are appreciated. They may be sent through PayPal to: NewNameNoah@yahoo.com but they are hardly mandatory so save your bitchin' for a cult that REQUIRES your "donations" for salvation. Donations to me are 100% VOLUNTARY.
(You'll notice that the endowment in this video was done on behalf of a "Preston Burns" but then at the veil the name given was different. Keep in mind, the part of this video filmed at the veil was filmed on a different date however, the "new name" is the same. That's because both visits were made on the 14th of a month. The "new names" are the same on any given day of the month with only 31 mens "new names" and 31 womens "new names". These "New names" are switched around about every ten years.)
VERY special thanks to Larry Greenwood for providing the closed captioning. It is a VERY slow and miserable process. And now, if there are faults in the Closed Captions they are the mistakes of men; wherefore, condemn not the things of Larry, that ye may be found spotless at the judgment-seat of Christ. ;-)

The first time I went through the temple, I had a bad feeling about it. Something in my head yelled run, but I was in too deep in to back out. I had to take out my endowments in order to get married, it was my wedding day. Non of my family was "worthy" to attend our wedding. I thought this was supposed to be the most wonderful day of my life.

I had the exact same experience 24 years ago. I cried and cried. Not because it was special, but because it freaked me out. I’m so sorry I was so brainwashed that my parents had to sit downstairs while I got married. They weren’t Mormon. They drove all the way from Kentucky to SLC. So messed up!

Why did you have a bad feeling about it? My wife and I were married 40 years ago in the Provo Temple. Some of my family couldn't attend because they weren't worthy. It doesn’t mean they are bad people they just weren't able to attend the temple. It was the most wonderful day of my life. We are still happily married and attend the church and the temple regularly. I understand the first time can be overwhelming. I am not judging you. I just want to know why you had a bad feeling when millions who attend have the opposite experience.

VERY FEW Mormons will seriously investigate the origins of their temple endowment ceremony. Many Mormons believe that they do indeed resemble the ancient Jewish rituals as they were performed in Soloman's temple as well as in Moses' portable tabernacle he took with him through the desert. Very few Mormons have even the slightest clue what rituals were performed in Solomans temple. They accept what they are taught and will rarely question it or dig deeper using non-Church approved material.

Actually, it is delivered as revelation direct from God. It was lost over the centuries and then restored again in this dispensation. It actually started with Adam and Eve. People leaving the Mormon church is not new. It has been going on from day one. If you don't want to stay, fine. We will see who is right on Judgement Day. I say to those who leave; which commandment did you not want to live? I wish you all well and a life full of happiness. Have a good day.

Kaleigh Bronson: 100% of the evidence says Mormonism is false. I HAVE read the Book of Mormon many times (mostly while serving a mission for the LDS Church) and, yes, I even prayed about it every time. Nothing. Most Mormons tell me I "didn't pray hard enough" or "didn't have real intent". Some have even declared that I "didn't WANT it to be true". So, I've read the BofM numerous times, prayed about it each time & then 20 years later posted "this filth on KZfaq". I agree. It IS "filth".

In my opinion, 99% of the Mormons who claim these videos are fake have never been through this (the Mormon temple endowment ceremony). The remaining 1% who deny it are simply not being honest. What PAST Mormon "prophets" have said isn't relevant to most Mormons. They credit "living prophets" for MASSIVE changes in doctrines & rituals. Apparently, the "God" of Mormonism changes his mind. Ever since my first trip through an endowment session in 2003 I have wondered where the "lion, the Tiger, the bear" part of the creation script came from: God or The Wizard of Oz. Each time I sat through an endowment over the years I would covertly look around during that part to see if anyone else noticed the wizard of oz language. Now that i have left the church and my "eyes have been opened" I see that the wizard of oz connection is more powerful than anything I had previously imagined. Jesus' "baptism" -the one where He had his outlaw cousin perform the act in the Jordan river would be the modern equivalent of somebody having OJ Simpson baptize them in a fountain in front of a Las Vegas Casino and then demanding to be considered a member of the MORmON church as a matter of protest. Jesus' baptism was an act of REBELLION and CONTEMPT for the Jewish establishment. Jesus was killed because He was a REBEL, NOT because He was a conformist. @@JoeontheInside When Lucifer appears in the Mormon temple ceremony he is wearing an apron. When Adam asks him about it, Lucifer boldly replies: "It is an emblem of my power and priesthoods." So, there is no ambiguity here - the apron has nothing to do with God; it is an emblem of Satan's power and priesthoods. A few minutes later, when they hear God, Lucifer tells Adam and Even to make themselves aprons and hide. Adam replies, "Come, let us hide," and at that point in the ceremony everyone is told to put on their aprons. And they do. So, for the rest of the ritual, on top of their temple garments with the masonic marking, and on top of their white temple clothes, temple patrons wear a dark green apron - in obedience to Lucifer and symbolizing his power and priesthoods. ***** Contrast the LDS teaching with God’s testimony found in the Bible: “he [God] saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy” (Titus 3:5). “For by grace (unmerited favor) you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). The Heavenly Father of the Bible invites you to make a trade. You give Him your sinful thoughts, your selfish actions, your imperfection, your murder, adultery, and all the other sin that blackens your soul, and in exchange He will give you the perfect righteousness of His Son Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul said it like this: We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he [God] made him [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:20-21) It’s a package deal: you get Christ’s perfection credited to you, and with it you get all your sins forgiven (past, present and yes, all the future ones too), adoption as a child of God, total worthiness and acceptance by God, and the promise-yes, the guaranteed promise-of eternal life in His presence. What can this mean for you? Jesus was perfect, and he was perfect so he could give his perfection to us as a gift. Consider the completed action in this Scripture: For by a single offering he [Jesus] has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified (Hebrews 10:14). Will We Listen to Lucifer or Jesus? Lucifer says, “Make you aprons.” In effect, do some of it yourself-it’s the only way to preserve some semblance of pride, dignity, and self-respect, and to gain for yourself what you need. That is quite consistent with the instructions every Latter-day Saint is given before going through the temple endowment ceremony. Your Endowment is, to receive all those ordinances in the House of the Lord, which are necessary for you, to enable you to walk back to the presence of the Father, passing the angels who stand as sentinels, being enabled to give them the key words, the signs and the tokens, pertaining to the Holy Priesthood, and thus gain your eternal exaltation. (7:05) Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). In effect, “I’ve done it for you, all of it. Now are you willing to humble yourself enough to simply take it?” As long as you are trying to contribute anything of your own to merit God’s provision of eternal life in His presence, you are rejecting the gift of Jesus Christ’s finished work on your behalf. Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Mt. 11:28 Nowhere in the Scriptures does Jesus say anything about an apron.... or grips.... or signs and tokens. You can trust Jesus.

There has been contradicting statements made by past Mormon leaders re: Kolob. The general consensus is that Kolob is the name of the STAR that is nearest to the planet that Elohim (aka Heavenly Father, aka God) lives on with his wives. A majority of your Mormon friends under the age of 18 are completely in the dark about the details of the ritual seen in the video known as the endowment ceremony. If they have served a mission, they almost certainly know about it. Ask them.

I grew up in this religion and most of my family still practices it. I went to the temple to be baptized for the dead when I was 12 years old. I was told growing up it was the most wonderful place in the world. That was the only time I ever stepped foot in a temple and from that moment on I had the creepiest feeling about the religion I was raised in. I just knew something about it wasn't right. I'm glad god enlightened me at a young age. Really, all any mormon has to stand on with this religion is faith. Faith in things that make no logical sense whatsoever. It is all about some positive emotion being developed, feeling a spirit and gaining a testimony through these emotions / feelings. I'm glad that when I went into the temple at 12 years old it made me sick. I never went back, as much as my parents pleaded with me to return. One year of seminary and I quit that as well. As soon as I was 18 I was done with the church. I just attended a sacrament meeting for the first time in a decade with my sister. After not stepping foot in a church for so long I couldn't believe what I was seeing and how abnormal it really all is. Then you watch this video and it takes it to a whole other level. Thank you sir for posting this. You are doing the world a great service. "Truth" is the last thing that needs to be hidden from the people. I love how supposed saints would wish death and eternal damnation upon you for exposing their ridiculous rituals. Jesus said turn the other cheek.

Mormons do NOT "question authority". “When our leaders speak, the thinking has been done. When they propose a plan-it is God’s Plan. Basically don't use your own brain when it comes to your religious beliefs. Because once you do that means that you no longer have a testimony. I know because I'm an ex member not once but twice, the first time was when I was a kid my parents pulled me out of the church, the second time was just recently it's because I have been away from the church for so long and not been taught by them that I was living and learning from the Holy Bible, and when I got back into the church I started questioning against the Bible, and they blew smoke and mirrors, but nothing sat right in my heart with what they were teaching. Terrill, Q: When a person visits the Temple on behalf of a deceased person, can the represent more than one person on a given day or do they have to visit multiple times on behalf of multiple people? A: One can do as many ordinances for the dead as one desires (within reason) on any given day. However, some ordinances take longer than others. For example, one could be baptized for ten people in 5 minutes or so but it takes nearly 2 hours to do a single endowment session representing one person. The Washing & Anointing ceremony takes about 6 minutes per person. Q: The gentleman explaining what was going to happen got "off script" several times. Who was "feeding" him his lines in the background? A: The ordinance worker got each other's backs. Newbies need a line here and there sometimes. It happens. It's live. The LIVE sessions only happen in the Manti, Utah and Salt Lake City temples. Q: What did the cleansing ceremony consist of? A: You will see the entire washing & anointing ceremony (performed in the Initiatory) on July 4, 2016. It will be covered in "Behind The Veil 2: Further Light & Knowledge". That's where/when Mormons start wearing their "magic underwear".

I’m currently talking to Mormon missionaries. I’m a Baptist with no intent of converting, but since they reached out to me I’m taking the chance to share the true Gospel with them. I’m currently working through the BoM because I told them I’d read it with the intent of learning more about their beliefs and being able to communicate better, but it really is so hard to get through. It’s just really confusing. First of all the idea of an introduction is weird and the fact that it has to state that it is comparable to the Bible and that it has to justify itself in its intro already makes it seem questionable. The only other sacred text I’ve ever read is the Bible, but it doesn’t have an intro used to justify itself. Also it seems to skip around a lot and new character get added out of no where without any context. I know the Bible jumps around the timeline sometimes, but in this case I turned to the next chapter, saw a new character/story, and had to turn back to see if I’d missed something cause it made no sense

What exactly is the point of all this? Growing up Mormon, I was always frustrated that nobody would tell me what an Endowment was. All anyone would ever tell me is that it's when you make special, sacred covenants with Heavenly Father. What covenants are made in this ceremony? The only thing they did was promise to be chaste, and give your time, money and talents to the church. These are covenants that all teenagers already know about. These aren't secret. It seems like the entire purpose of this endowment is to learn to secret handshakes. And what's the point of the handshakes? Is it supposed to be the key to get into the Celestial Kingdom? Is there going to be a literal veil where God tests everyone on whether or not they know the secret handshakes? If you forget, are you going to go to the Terrestrial Kingdom? And how on earth are you supposed to memorize all that your first time through?

NewNameNoah I was actually asking what the point of the temple ritual was. What is their reasoning for the secret handshakes? That's really the only part that isn't talked about outside the temple because it's "sacred, not secret" (bullshit). People in the church rarely talk about Heavenly Mother because she's so "sacred," but yet they still talk about her. Outside the temple, people rarely refer to Heavenly Father as Elohim because it's so "sacred," but they occasionally still do The handshakes and silly password rituals at the veil are the only "sacred" things that no one talks about. I get the feeling it's because it freaks people out (and rightly so; it's pretty creepy). But what is the church's reasoning behind the masonic initiation rituals? They have to have some answer, even if it's a bullshit answer.

@John Smith I don't care what you think about Bible Jesus. I don't care if you believe in an impossible Trinity view that has no logic. The only thing is: they believe Jesus Christ is a Divine Being at some level, therefore they are Christian. As Christian as anybody else that believes that Jesus is any level of divine and that his resurrection has a meaning, it doesn't matter what specifically.

@John Smith, You didn't understand. I said that YOUR opinion or even the position of your Church about Jesus doesn't matter. What you believe is totally irrelevant if you want to set if a group as a Christian. If they believe that is a divine being, and that he resurrected, they are Christian. Where is your opinion here? Nowhere. Let me ask: 1. What is the trinity for you? One god or three gods? If it is one god, how could Jesus be on the water being baptized, while the Spirit is a dove, and you hear a voice from above... How is one god in... three different places??!? 2. How do you explain Acts 7:55-56: (But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”) How can one guy be seen in two different places, with two different bodies? 3. God is invisible? What about Hebrews 12:14 (Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.) and Exodus 33:11???? (The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.) 4. Also, in this "inspired book" called Bible, in Judges 6:11-12, 22 (The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” -- When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the Lord, he exclaimed, “Alas, Sovereign Lord! I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face!”) we see THE SAME expression, and in one of them (Judges), Gideon uses the expression FACE TO FACE as literal. Why shouldn't we interpret FACE TO FACE as the same way in Exodus? What is different? Did God slip a little bit and forgot about these passages? Ouch! I am not a Mormon anymore, and I am no longer a Christian. But in this Joseph was right: The trinitarian view makes no logical sense. That's why he "corrected" it, so it would sound plausible for his audience, because it's a logical way of understanding, so he could get more followers. Joseph knew his Bible, do you?

Love how they paint the Fall as Adam being "morally superior" and his wife as a Jezebel. His multiple refusals to partake are found nowhere in Scripture. They paint Adam as a poor, righteous fellow being "tricked" by his evil wife when Scripture says clearly he was there *with* her while she was being tempted and watching the whole thing. (Gen. 3:6) If Adam was so upstanding, why was he watching Eve succumb to temptation (and thus implicating himself) and not intervening? Patriarchal misogyny at its finest.

I went through the temple (Salt Lake) for the first time in 1976 when I was 19 years old and preparing to go on my mission. The whole temple experience was confusing and disturbing to me, but I would never have admitted that to anyone. One of the most disturbing parts of the ceremony is something that has since been removed (Why was it removed? Did God make a mistake to put it in there in the first place?). The part that was removed was during the oaths in which you had to swear that you would not reveal the signs. The oaths would end with, "Rather than do so, I would suffer my life to be taken." As you said that part of the oath, you had to make a slashing motion on different part of your body (your neck and bowels are the ones I remember). Wow! Now it's hard for me to believe that I was completely into the church. Because of my background, my 22 year old daughter is fascinated with Mormonism. When I mentioned to her one time that I thought it was probably a cult, she showed me a picture from internet of everyone in their temple clothing in the prayer circle and said, "DO YA THINK?!?!" lol

For all of hype around “going to the temple” I have to say the inside is pretty disappointing. You had to go to the ward's library and go find the unusual books if you wanted to study it, same with other select books, which enevitably I did just before leaving. I was more focused at the time on the storys of the prophets after JSmith, with the indervidual books they had. Otherwise I was going off to do work with the missionaries on home visits from the lesson guide. If anything, it just felt like they wanted to rush us off early for Missions as I was at that age. It wasn't until I backed off, that I had the chance to learn more on my own accord. Their lesson books for the men didn't really cover Kolob (by name). Yes, the whole celestial realm thing, the other kingdoms below etc were told during priesthood gatherings after sacrament service, briefly from time to time. It's sad when you have to read a 138 page letter that answers the questions I've had for years. Sucks to know I'm considered the black sheep of the family for taking the time to answer questions of my own instead of naively falling for the bullshit I was raised in. Plus my parents literally cannot comprehend that people can be GAY, they pressure me to be celibate to stay with the church. The Mormon and gay website is bullshit, just like banning blacks from the "Priesthood" and now acting like it isn't a big deal. The "prophets" literally contradict each other. So much for an unchanging church that tell's only God's truth. Oh and now the church's name has changed BACK to the 1830 name. What is that, the fourth name change now? @@dallinbissett1992 because i was born and raised LDS and served a mission and have been through the temple and was sealed in the temple and have served in many, many time consuming callings and sat through countless pointless council meetings and devotionals and have been berated by multiple stake presidents about not shaving my beard, amd even a temple sealer, he mocked my beard while i sat under a picture of jesus with a beard. So with those among other experiences (many of which were also good) with the mormon church, amd the fact i have never had any other life long devotion to another church, it is only fair that I rail against this church. I camt speak for anyone else, but likely the people who, like me, made it 37 years believing only to happen upon the gospel topics essays amd other sources of historical information which show cover-up and deception from the apostles and prophets from joseph to Russel, after that realization that I have devoted my life to a lie, yes, I will rail against it. And it wouldnt be right for me to call out any other faith system for lies because I do not know they are lies. It is my opinion that the LDS faith is based on lies and deception which opinion i have formed through a life time of practice as a devoted Mormon. You dont have to agree, you can rationalize my opinion away by thinking I was never truly devoted, I never actually studied, I never prayed with real intent, but if you judge me in that way you will be wrong and you will be condemning yourself to erroneous judgment. Assuming you believe what the scriptures say about with what judgment you measure out will be used against you. So I think thats why people go against the church, because we werent guilty of the first offense, or the second, or the third, which means by book of Mormon justice we are justified in fighting against the church. No ill will towards you. Just sharing my opinion and offering an explanation. My beef is with the church administration, not any individual person.
