We are blessed to have some pretty hard-working kids on our farm. They are up before the chickens, getting started with the morning chores. The kids are involved in every aspect of the farm and have gained a great work ethic and passion for raising livestock. We are extremely proud of and appreciative of our children.

Trinity Dairy was established in 2006, in Minnesota. Alan and Jennifer farm with their 5 children; Jessica, Justin, Jordan, Joshua, and Jason. We milk a mix of 33 Jersey, Holstein, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and Ayrshire cattle. We also enjoy sharing our family's love of Draft Horses and using them for logging and other farm work. Dairy Farming in Minnesota can be challenging, but it's a lifestyle we really enjoy. Subscribe today to watch our small family dairy farm and family grow while continuing to thank our Lord for the blessings we've been given.

I have watched your videos for some time now, and I am always taken in by the "unity" that exists in your family. I remember when the kids were younger, how they would emulate the farm operation with their toy tractors, trucks, etc., following you and Jen around the farm watching and learning. They have come a long way in the past few years thanks to you Alan and Jen. I don't believe that there are too many children their age who are getting up at 5:30 A.M. to help with the chores and the milking. God must smile when he looks down upon your family. God Bless you all and thanks for the many valuable lessons in life that you continue teaching your children.

I remember how proud I was when Mom and Dad trusted my brother and I enough to go on trips and we took care of the chores ourselves. Then word got out and I covered the neighbors farms when they would go on vacations too. It was a really big deal for me as a teenager. I was very proud of what I did. It was a reflection of our family. So sorry to hear about the eagle 😢

So what determines if you give them hay or silage unless I missed it?
@trinitydairy

Typically they get silage at night and hay in the morning, but the cows cleaned up the previous nights silage so well I figured I'd up the amount a bit.

Brings back so many good memories of my childhood in the late 50’’s and 60’s going to the barn twice a day. Your kids always have such a great attitude. We had to roll out about 4:30 am so we could be done milking before the milkman came. We still shipped cans then. Keep your kids involved. It’s a great way of life.

I’m really interested in the operating side of the dairy. Some folks call it the geeky stuff. It would be very interesting to see how much, what type and location of your crops for 2024. How many cows you’ll need, which ones to cull and general herd maintenance. That’ll show the world that it’s a lot more involved in running a farm that people think.

A video about different cow personalities would be entertaining to me. Like what Jessica said about that one being shy at first. And Jen has talked about cow behavior some in the past. I'm sure you guys notice different personality traits all the time, perhaps inherited in some cases. The way they act when talked to or when neck or ear rubbed is entertaining to see and their eyes sometimes look like they really know what's going on more that one might expect. And I'm sure you have cow stories where they caused some farm excitement. Just an idea.

Every once in a while, I would love to see the chores being done and enjoy watching how you all interact with the cows. Your kids are great and should be proud of themselves and their parents. Is anyone else going to get a calf for the coming year. Do you still drive bus? Something I might like to see is how home schooling is done. Most of my great nieces and nephews were/are home schooled. One of them is now about done with his law degree. Several have graduated from college and the rest are hard workers. The University near us used to have a program called a quiz bowl that had teams from the different area schools compete. They also included a group of home schoolers, who ended up in second place against some tough competition. Another idea for a video is maybe to follow a calf from day one and then to being milked or when the weather is good, showing the kids sledding. We lived on a big hill and my brother made a trail that curved at the bottom of the hill. He banked the curve and iced it up with water. We went halfway down the field. The only bad part was walking all of the way back. Also love to just hear the sounds of the cows and the milk machines working away. Thanks.

I don't think my grandma cares much about them, neither did my grandpa, I think he kinda thought it was a waste of time when I was filming, but the last year before he died, he was pretty much stuck in bed,so my mom set up his TV so he could watch you tube, and when he got to see them, he just loved them!
