It is the medication. I have bipolar disorder and gained 40 pounds with out changing any of my lifestyle. The big thing I did was make a food journal and exercise. Then my medical team changed some of my meds. It’s difficult but you can do it! I take a digestive enzymes too.

I gained 65 pounds with mine.. it was so extreme that I got off them. (I need the medication but am afraid to go back on them.) I'm glad you're aware, I wasn't and they weight just kept coming.

I take fluoxitine and gained no weight. Menopause hit and I gained weight due to menopause.

Hi Lauren, have you thought about doing the Zoe tests? It tests your gut microbiome DNA and your blood fat and blood sugar responses, so you can eat the foods that work for your body (all types of food, it's not a diet), so if you fancy carbs, you know which ones your body can tolerate. I did mine a year ago and haven't looked back! I'm 56, menopausal and was very overweight and making loads of excuses, eating crap after my daughter left home. Now, after eating all types of food that I know my body likes and can tolerate, I''ve lost over 3 stone without trying (literally it's just gone), my sleep is amazing, my anxiety and mental health feel manageable, my hormones feel balanced.... no sweats and all those nasty symptoms. My skin is clear and my brain fog and thinking/decision making feels quick. I'm on the autistic spectrum and I feel like I'm on my own side, not playing tug of war with myself inside. I'm on no medication, other than asthma inhalers. I just wonder if this is a starting from scratch moment for you? If so, I can't recommend Zoe highly enough. It's life changing. I feel in control of my body and haven't needed to see a doctor in 12 months! 🥳
