I'm new to the world of bunnies ... We have had our little bun only for about three weeks, she's about two and half months old. As we are new to bunny parenting, we have a pen that she is in for the majority of the day, and a cage we put her in at night (for safe keeping). We have three dogs and our house is definitely not bunny proof. But, we created a nice big pen for her to lounge, eat, and play in all day long. In the mornings, I clean up all the poo, freshen her litter box, freshen her hay, give her some pellets and water, then get her out of her cage. She doesn't mind her cage, but adores her pen. She usually immediately goes over to the litter box or the hay box, but waits for me to bring her morning salad of lettuce, kale, and cilantro and gobbles it up. She loves Timothy Hay cubes, so I always give her a few of those, and about every other day she gets a small slice of apple or strawberry. Again, as new bunny moms, we aren't exactly sure of the amount of fresh veggies and such, so I just wind up giving her a big handful in the morning and again in the evening.

I let Reuben and Ramona out of their pen in am and sprinkle their pellets in the living room on a big rug and snuffle mat and sometimes in a pellet ball. This keeps them busy while I tend to cleaning up, fill hay and water and sprinkling some herbs in their digging box. Then I also scatter their greens around. This gets them out and about while I get ready for work. It’s crazy how they have come to expect this routine!! At night they sit on the living room rug waiting for night time pellets and on weekends if I sleep later they rattle the pen!

Hi Omg I love your morning routine it seams like your bunnys are very happy with it and in the morning for me I do my bunnys pelets and litter box and than I give him his salad and than just like you I can live with a good filing all day thanks for posting much love

I am a big fan of Small Pet Select! Every morning, my adorable bunnies Daisy and Elle Mae kickstart their day with 2-3 small slices of fresh fruit, such as banana, apple, pear, or blueberries, depending on what I have available. They also enjoy a bowl of torn Romaine lettuce mixed with a chopped-up small carrot or sweet pepper (about 1 tablespoon). It's our special bonding time as they munch on their breakfast. After that, I clean out old hay and litter replace these items in their litter pan, and sprinkle a pinch of herbs, small pieces of dried fruit, or carrots. I make sure to lightly shake the herbs and fruit fall down so they have something to search for. While they happily dig into their hay, I take the opportunity to sweep up any bunny droppings and clean up any dirt in their designated area. It's worth mentioning that they are free-range bunnies, enjoying the safety of my enclosed back porch.
