One of the most perfect songs ever written/recorded together with one of my favourite pieces of British film~making! What could possibly be better? Morrissey, Oscar Wilde,Camden,Stephen Fry and Jude Law!

Morrissey is one of very, very few that can write and sing a single song that will pull every string of emotion. The movie Wilde was awesome!

listened to Quarry to today...here in the bright, sunny skies of Los Angeles..and wanted to be under slate grey Victorian skies, with river tea and wet pavement. Very nice to see so many fans of both Wilde and Moz...amazing men.

Some people might think I've committed a sin by saying this but this by far one of the best songs ever written by Morrissey in both his career with The Smiths and in his solo career. This video is solid!

"Where taxi drivers never stop talking, under slate gray Victorian Skies". How great is that turn of phrase? Everything in this song envelopes the listener in myth and mist. Like something from Proust.

Beautiful fanvid!!! I once read somewhere that this song was based on the tumultuous love affair between Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine, who actually lived together in Camden Town at some point in their lives and yes, their relationship seemed to be closely akin to that between Oscar Wilde and Alfred Douglas

Lovely film, lovely song. Don't believe that Moz's falsetto has ever sounded better than on this track. The likeness of Fry and Law to Wilde and Bosi is pretty uncanny as well. Always wondered what Moz thought of this movie?

Good god his voice in this song is flawless! It epitomizes the proud that would martyr itself and purposely cut one’s self short of the oblivions of Heaven if all the grey sky couldn’t go with it nor could he go before a debt was paid to those whose passing saw them ablaze in the darkness with a crowd gathered round

The worst of Morrissey is still better than almost everyone else. Yes, he's difficult, he's a control freak, and he's more than a little paranoid, but, but he's also a genius more times than anyone else in music.
