After a long hiatus, the kiting community and the public were more than ready for wholesome and healthy fun. Participating kite flyers came from as far as Alaska. If you too like kites, plan to attend in 2023. We would love to have you attend.

A long overdue hello to you Ray! Nobody was indifferent to Cleopatra when she flew on Sunday. About a zillion pictures taken. I still see your comments from time to time on WeChat. You must catch me up sometime. I'd like to know how things are going for you.

@@PanyingPilot just Do it next year! Buy a Ticket for an airplain and a Rom in fano (danibo or sologstrand) Its great here. Yes you have a long war but one time in a kiters live you must stay at These event

Great event in a wonderful location, Glenn. That spiky bol really appeals - almost a festival on its own. Good to see some old favourites there (Chang-e and more) and lots of young people enjoying themselves.

Very few had their faces glued to their phones, except for taking photos. All in all, a nice return to organized kiting. Personally, two years ago, it seemed easier, ha!

OH WOW!!! what a great display of kites. The dragon and cleopatra stood out as the ones I liked best. Congrats on a successful weekend.

Jim, I had great satisfaction seeing Cleopatra and the cobra combination. She flew better and better as the wind increased. It was a nice kiting event after such a long dry spell. Keep in touch.

Wow... nice pictures from Morro Bay Kite Festival, lots of kites and many spectators, with wonderful weather... nice that Paul Panther was able to watch again, I found the Pickel-Bowl particularly impressive... great that it was with you Kite festivals will be held again... 👍 👏 😎

It was a nice return to kiting. There was new money spent on kites by some fliers. Paul Panther had the best view. Appreciated.

Tim, the pleasure was Cherie and mine. Word has it that a night fly on Friday night might precede Saturday's event, I appreciate your consideration at the beach camps, the spacing was good. Your kite choices worked well for the conditions, The odds against two cobra being flown side by side on that beach are about a zillion to one. How special!

Considering the JACs are almost identical makes it less likely, there are only 3 in the US that I'm aware of. DL is coming with me next year and we'll be flying LED again. Don't know if you saw our pictures of the night fly but it was a blast.

Raymond, I'd certainly call this one a success. With over a thousand in attendance, not a single bit of bad behavior that I'm aware of. ( beginners with two line parafoil kites excepted LOL)

Epic video Glenn and Cherie. Kite festivals can be hard work, flying, filming, and editing. Well done! I could see your camp and picked out your kites. I know the public love these days and maybe encourages a few to keep up the hobby but I now prefer the more relaxed get togethers with friends.

Carl, you are so right about campaigning at a kite festival. It is work and its stressful minding a big show kite. I deliberately did not edit myself into the piece, but you saw exactly where I was camped. Cherie did a hero's job canvassing the beach for superb shots. I love my wife! I agree, fun flying with friends with room to spare is as good as it gets.

Great composition Glenn, as said before it’s a tough thing to participate, video, photograph and chat. You and Cherie did a superb job. Good to see a good number participating and some fabulously talented kiters putting on a show. I never realised just how talented panther is!

Jonny, you are certainly right about the effort required to attend, participate in and document these kinds of events. The reward of hearing from our " tribe" in the comments and seeing what we can do singly and in groups makes it worth while. I am delighted with your recent video. Let's keep them all flying.

You got to fly with Real Alaskiters?!? I've heard they're a Rough Crowd. I like how Cleo is piloting the embodiment of the snake she wears as a headband too!

Congrats being the first to connect Cleo and the snake. Several people thought she was Wonder Woman, which is OK, if they mean Linda Carter. This Cleo is Liz Taylor who was a stunner in her prime. My only gripe with Alaskiters is they thought our harbor seals would look better much heavier and with tusks.
