ngl shang tsung's boxy jawline is iconic to Cary's facial structure when he is part of MK movies, thus they honored this design in MK11 and I can understand them going to alternate path because this is an alternate timeline. Keep in mind, the characters from MK1 are like 20 years younger than in MK11. Johnny haven't even met Sonya. Although Kuai Liang x Harumi is Liu's retcon to avoid Hanzo's tragedy, I hope other characters get different pairs too.

Mk11 Sindel is the evil goth baddie but Mk1 Sindel looks so damn good. She may be my favorite redesign out of all the ladies. Love the Raiden re-imagination. Demi-god Liu Kang is also really cool. Wish he could turn off the god eyes every now and then though.
