I can't believe how much respect Netherrealm showed Rambo. Even the most brutal and hateful characters give him respect.

I love the fact that John Rambo is just a normal guy who gets dropped into the MK universe and acts accordingly.

Rambo's responses in a nutshell: 1: I don't understand this world. 2: That's just fucked up.

I like how Spawn’s respectful when talking to Rambo. He knows what it means to be a soldier who’s been through Hell.

I like how Rambo doesn’t talk tough to sound tough, he just talks and it sounds tough. Man just says it how it is, ain’t afraid to say what he’s feeling, whether it’s fear or if he has a genuine question and is confused.

"Stand down, and I will save your soul." "I'm beyond saving." That hits hard.

The fact that Stallone is doing the voice makes it even better!

I love that a third of Rambo's dialog is just "The lore for this universe makes no goddamn sense."

Love that the special forces are all treating him as the O.G. Soldier.

That's an honor when spawn told Rambo he's the next in line for his power's.... Damn honor right there.

"Nothing about this place makes sense." The only character to ever notice it.

I know Stallone is a professional and all, but props to him on these line deliveries. He doesn't sound like he's just reading a script.

Rambo: "What's my crime. vagrancy?" Me, remembering First Blood: "ROBOCOP, DON'T!"

I like how Robocop is trying to arrest Rambo for the events that transpired in First Blood.

Every other line from Rambo sounds like he fell into a portal to MK while on a stroll to the super market and he's genuinely really confused. I love it.

"You're from Bowie, too?" "No, I'm from Philly." "...No kiddin'." Nice Rocky reference there.

For those who might not know, the Red Tails were the Tuskegee Airmen who flew in the 332nd Fighter Group who painted the tails of their planes red.

I LOVE how they made him broken and not edgy. It is like the only character who is not trying to sound cool or make a witty comment. He is just a broken man who doesn't want to be there, but has to. I LOVE it

All of Rambo’s dialogues are so human and relatable. He actually felt bad for Robocop and tries to not fight with a few other characters. He never was rude or aggressive towards anyone that wasn’t mean to him. Pure innocence from a tormented soldier. They did this character justice. Even his ending was so understandable.

By far, the best is his reaction to the T-800 telling him that all human life is terminated in the future. No anger, no witty comeback, no "I'm gonna change it" or "gonna stop you." Just a genuinely terrified "Fuck."

18:22 I like Keith David's delivery of Spawn's line here. He seems more concerned about John than anything, knows nothing good will come of continuing on like he is (maybe out of experience? I dunno, I don't know much about Spawn himself, just that he's a badass).

Love Rambo's interaction with Scorpion "I can respect that."

The fact they got Sylvester Stallone to voice Rambo just makes this all the more amazing instead of just some guy doing a dumb Stallone impression like in the Rocky video game.

I just love Rambo's reactions in the game. They're so normal compared to the chaosness that is the MK universe. And the fact that Sly himself did the voice is just the icing on the cake. You know it's the real deal.

I love how everyone sees, Rambo as an actual threat.

We need a Rambo game with "The Suffering" game-like elements. But instead of an insanity meter, you have a PTSD meter. And instead of turning into a monster, you have an interactive Vietnam flashback. Personally, I always thought Rambo and Torque were alike.

I'll bet that blank stare he has every time he pulls his knife out is on purpose. It's called the Thousand-Yard Stare, and many veterans, particularly ones with PTSD, often have that look on their face all the time. It means they are dissociating and emotionally detaching themselves from their surroundings because their brains refuse to endure (or more accurately, refuses to acknowledge) more mental trauma and fear.

Having just revisited First Blood I and Part II, it is delicious how well they worked in dialogue from both films. The Demolition Man gag is nice too.

Rambo is the ONLY person Spawn shows deep respect,wants him to go home and doesn't want to fight him. Simply goes to show how badass he is and the thought of Rambo taking on the Spawn's Mantle terrifies me. This is some next level fan service i really appreciate.

To me, the best is the one between him and Sheeva. "What possessed the Gods to make a man like you?" "They didn't make me, Troutman did." "This person must be punished." This intro insinuates that Sheeva had seen Rambo fight, and I mean really fight, and as queen to a warrior race that never stops fighting and honors battle and glory, and decided that warriors like him were so damn, for lack of a better term I can think of rn, frightening, that the man responsible should be found, and punishment delivered -swiftly-

I absolutely love the detail to his facial expressions. When serious he narrows his eyes. When he has something in common with a fighter, his eyes widen. When he's threatened or disgusted he frowns. I love that detail
