Feel free to download them at your discretion. Remember that you will need any Finale family program from 2008 or later to open the original .MUS Finale file. Otherwise, download the .MID.
*IMPORTANT*
I may upload some other arrangements I've done based upon how well this does. This includes some Mario and Legend of Zelda songs. =)
*DESCRIPTION*
This is an arrangement I made using a MIDI file of the Mortal Kombat Theme.
I would like to point out a couple of things before you guys start critiquing it.
1) It is currently a MIDI file, as I have not yet been able to a real recording/performance of the piece. I apologize, but it's all I have so far.
2) Yes, it is alot shorter. This is because the original song repeated alot, and seemed redundant to me. If you really want to have the full song in sheet music, I suggest you do that on your own.
3) Yes, the key is very funky... I tried to keep it close to the original, but I had to change it so that the range was do-able for the Trombones; the original target group.
4) The high G notes within the song are meant to be lyrics, not notes. Yelling "MORTAL KOMBAT!!!" at the top of your lungs there is recommended. =)
5) This song is free for you all to use on your own. I hosted it here specifically for that purpose. Please don't flame me too bad for trying to be helpful. =P
And of course, if you decide to try it on your own, feel free to experiment with it. See what makes it sound good. If you can as well, post it on KZfaq as a reply. I'd love to see how well it is performed. =)

Yep, either that or learn how to effectively alternate back and forth between the 2nd and 3rd trombone parts. =P 3rd taking the downbeats, 2nd taking the upbeats or something like that.

Thanks. =) I felt like I was in a similar boat as y'all, not being able to find Trombone pieces for my favorite video game songs. Fortunately, I've become handy with the Finale Series, so I wanted to help end the drought. =)

Thanks for the compliment. =) I don't exactly know how to transpose music into other instruments that aren't based in B flat. I'm pretty sure it's not that difficult, but I'm still not used to it the same. I suggest asking a music teacher who is familiar with transposing on what to do, if you really want to. Good luck. =)

Under the file menu of pretty much any Finale program (as far as I know), there should be an option to "Extract Parts". That's what you will want.

Hey, first thing, wanted to let you know that i love your trombone trios. I downloaded a bunch of em for finale and printed them out for me and my friends. We sight read this and Tetris, then tried to play it the next day by memory and failed horribly. In a few months we will be playing your trios as a video game themed ensemble for our ensemble recital. If i can, i will record it and post it here for you.

The notes themselves sound fine. It's the entire song. Normally, it's in a different key. I transposed that to B Flat. It sounds similar, if not the same, as the original. It just has different pitches.

Thanks for all the positive messages guys. I'm really glad you all like it. =) Now, just a heads up for you all. A while ago, I was contacted by shadowsurfer911 to possibly create a whole band arrangement for this. We talked for a while, and we agreed to try and do it. Then nothing happened for a month or so. I finally got to working on it the other day. Had it pretty much finished too. And of course, my program crashed. I'll try to recoup soon and start over. Sorry guys. =(

I think the Trombone 2 part would sound more like the original song if it were an octave higher from 0:21 - 0:33. It's definately playable.

I've only been playing for about... 7 or 8 years (since 5th Grade). I'm still working on getting this song down myself. =P I can get the fast part easy on my Baritone, but it is a bit trickier for me with my slide.

@NSZachP There are free "print to pdf" programs you could use. Though, I also highly recommending downloading Finale Notepad if you're interested in sheet music.

Sorry about that... a friend had logged into my computer... I had forgot to switch back to mine. =P I found a Piano version of the sheet music. I took that music and pretty much inserted it in Bass Clef, within a range that Trombones can hit (usually XD ). Sometimes, I get lucky and find Midi files. Since they actually have the music encoded as sheet music, you can open it with Finale Notepad 2008 or something and be able to just copy/paste.

Pretty much hit it on the head. The best quality file in my opinion to edit with is the .MUS file type, which is used by the Finale line of products. The cheapest editor is NotePad, for about $10. There's also a free .MUS file READER, not editor. I now use the Finale PrintMusic program, which cost me $90. I also hosted out there the .MID files for those who prefer not using Finale. Many other programs will allow you to edit music from a .MID file.

Yeah, that's what I thought you were talking about. I meant for it to be the way it is. Dotted eighth, dotted eighth eighth is the way it's supposed to be. Which, incidentally is the same as dotted eighth, sixteenth tied to eighth, eighth. As for the eighth rest, eighth eighth eighth, I felt that the first eighth sounded better if it was longer. As such, I have it as a sixteenth rest, dotted eighth (or sixteenth tied to eighth), eighth eighth. Man, eighth is hard to spell many times over. :P

Yes, as a matter of fact, it can. The only thing you'd have to do is transpose it into the Trumpet key and put it in Treble Clef. In fact, I can do that for you if you like.

anytime you have the dotted eighth, dotted eighth, eighth. you could just make them 3 quarter note triplets. Or if you changed it to match the song it would be dotted eighth, sixteenth tied to eighth, eighth, eighth rest, eighth eighth eighth. This is in the second part. At 0:22

I made it, yes... but with an almost direct reference to a MIDI file of the song. I just transposed it and made a shorter version of the full song for the Trombone Trio. That's about it.

I didn't use a microphone to record the audio; I used a recording program, coupled with an activated "Stereo Mix". Stereo Mix pretty much means that whatever the sound that would be sent to the speakers, would be accepted with the audio program. Google "Stereo Mix" to figure out how to activate it. I also used a program called "Audio Recorder for Free" to capture the audio. Thus, the audio and video were two separate files. From there, I combined them in Windows Movie Maker.

Alright, so you know, I've gone ahead and uploaded the Trumpet Trio version into the same place I posted in the comments section. Just go into the "Trumpet Files" folder instead of the "Trombone Files" one.

I made this music file arranged for three Trombones to play. The original Midi File I used for reference may have the main melody, but it was not for trombones; it was made to sound like the original. So, yes, the person who made the midi file did in fact arrange it. I used what they had made, and went on to make another version. If I am correct, that is what they did originally as well. They took the original song and made a midi. So, you have no right to tell me I can't take credit for this.

A) First of all, I don't know where you are coming from about the Treble Clef... as far as I know, I never mentioned it. B) This song IS in bass clef, so there's no problem there. C) Why can't trombones have melody parts? The melody doesn't always have to be in a higher clef or for higher instruments. Plenty of times trombones play the melody. D) I'm working on a video of myself playing... I'm still practicing, and trying to get my tone back on my newly purchased Bach 42BO. May be a while.

You mean the Marcato markings? 2nd part, when it first comes in? Pretty much is a cross between accented and staccato. Heavy, yet separated.

Shoot... sorry about that... for reference... "Possibly. =P You would have to do the drumline parts, as I have absolutely no idea how to do drum parts. It would also depend if we do it soon enough or not. My Finale PrintMusic trial is about to run out... and NotePad limits you to 8 parts. PrintMusic at least lets you have 24 parts. I would probably be able to the other wind parts... it would take some work, but it would be possible..." Anyways...

Well... For the Trial, I would assume they have some way of knowing whether or not you've had the trial before... so uninstall/reinstall probably wouldn't work out so hot... Making an entire chart, I've never actually done before... it would be interesting to do... I'd just have to find the time to do it. =P I'm really considering buying the full PrintMusic, though... $90 isn't cheap though... really nice program though. And yeah, I'll look into YIM, as I use Yahoo for email.

What I am trying to say is that the Bass Trombone parts don't make those transitions as easy as Tenor & that there should be some Chord Representation between the parts.
