The screaming and yellow eyes was one of the plot points in story mode. The characters were overtaken my a magical rage, which was the justification for the “good guys” turning on each other :)

Fun fact: If you remember, in mortal kombat 9, shang sung had a fatality where he was a clown. That fatality was a reference to the joker's first fatality.

The yellow eyes and screaming before the fatalities happen because in the story, there's a cosmic "rage" force that makes the characters irrationally angry and attack even allies. I believe they used it in fatalities per DC's or Warner Bros' request to make the characters look less cold-blooded when killing.

I do not know if this was mentioned before, because this was a collaboration between MK and DC, the violence we're used to seeing from MK had to be toned down and certain fatalities from this game were censored, such as the Joker's "Bang", which tilted the camera away from the character getting shot in the head. If you can recall your reactions from MK9 fatalities, Shang Tsung's first was morphing into a clown performing the same fatality that was censored from that game. Sort of a "lets do it right" statement from the devs.

I haven't watched it yet, but I seriously hope you have your expectations really low. This was the first MK has ever been rated T. No gore since the DC license was involved. Also the first MK had a proper story with cinematics. Also they scream because they're filled with rage. Also MKvsDC is canon. Argus is the God of Edenia. He has 3 heirs, Daegon, Taven, and (his bastard son) Rain. Joker's first fatality is actually censored, they zoom in on Joker and doesn't show the opponent being shot. Captain Marvel had to change to Shazam after Marvel Comics copyrighted the name "Marvel"

shazam was the first character to be called captain marvel while the wizard who gave him his powers name was shazam,he was owned by fawcett comics before eventually being bought by dc comics. after he was bought by dc they kept the name captain marvel for some time until the 2000s where they decided to change his name to shazam to avoid confusion with the marvel character "captain marvel" whether it was mar-vell or carol danvers.

The big pyramid is the plot of MK Armageddon. The "Deadly Alliance" between Lex and Quan Chi was the title of the first MK game on PS2 where Quan Chi and Shang Tsung teamed up to kill Liu Kang. Wonder Women's shield was the logo of Deadly Alliance, and the sword she had is some magic sword belonging to Astrah who's playable in Deception/Armageddon. I forget exactly how it works cause Astrah was kind of meh, but I think the sword is more effective against demons and evil being, and when killing evil beings purifys the wielder. So Astrah was this holy cleric looking women in all white, but she was actually a demon the sword purified.

Cat Women's artwork is my favorite of them all and having and seeing the bat symbol in the back was a dope touch.

Argus is rain’s father and the ruler of Edina and after making Rain’s mother think that rain was dead she died from grief and Rain confronted and killed him.

When I was little this was the game that got me into Mortal Kombat. Also this is sort of the prequel game to the Injustice universe since there are alot of references in the inj 2 and mk11 that make this cannon even though lex is bad.

TLDR Captain Marvel is Shazam's original name. Fawcett Comics(Original character creator)/DC lost the rights to the name due to the character being out of print during the 50s/60s, then Marvel Comics came and copyrighted the name. So DC were forced to come up with a new name for the character, which is now called Shazam.

Scorpion's and deathstroke's fatalities are the only ones where both are satisfying (to me at least). And green lantern crushing someone in that orb is in no way a heroic brutality, that's a straight up fatality.

The MK that came before this one, Armageddon, doesn't have individual fatalities. The characters have generic finishers and they're basically all the same to every character, because the game had over 50 characters and it would be too much work. I don't think there's a way for you guys to react to that one, but you should DEFINITELY react to Armageddon's opening cinematic. And if you do Deception's fatalities and hara-kiris and Deadly Alliance, please react to their openings as well. That's something the older MK games had that I wish the new ones went back to doing, really elaborate cinematic openings. I love love love you guys' reactions!

Yes, because super heroes were involved, and I think DC didn't want blood and fatalities, the watered down versions of these fatalities is what we had. If I remember correctly, when their eyes would glow and they'd scream, it was rage taking over their bodies, as it did throughout the storyline within this game. Don't quote me on that, I haven't played this game in about 10ish years xD You guys are really diggin the MK kontent. If I may, I'd request watching a fellow KZfaqr's video, "The History of Mortal Kombat (Full Movie). It's about 2 or 3 videos combined, and the content creator, 616 Entertainment, goes over every game in good detail, explaining the characters and the lore. Extremely informative. One of the videos worth watching until the very end. It's about 2 hours and 36 minutes long. I know you guys probably get a crap load of requests, but the info in that video is very informative, and it goes over games many people never heard of in the MK franchise.

I think my favorite endings were Catwoman, closely followed by Wonder Woman's. Though, as a fan of horror, an army of crazed tarkatans sounds kind of cool/terrifying.

This game became a Black Sheep of the Mortal Kombat games before Midway(the OG Mortal Kombat developers from the 90s who made the classics) got bankrupt. Luckily Ed Boon the creator of Mortal Kombat founded Netherrealm Studios and then made a come back revival to make Mortal Kombat 9, arguably one of THE best Mortal Kombat games of all time, along with Mortal Kombat Trilogy that is.

People tend to crap on this game but me and my girlfriend (back then) liked to play it against each other on PS2.

About time you got to MKvsDC, this came before Injustice, and actually sets up the story of both those games, as I recall. Not nearly as brutal and violent because of the DC characters, plus it was their first attempt at a more refined, cinematic story mode, which has now become the norm for MK. Still a fun game, and, as always your reaction was fun to watch. Keep being awesome! And yeah, the character now known as Shazam was originally called Captain Marvel until Marvel sued, plus most people erroneously called him Shazam anyways, assuming that was his name. In MK vs DC, the characters were consumed by a force known as "The Rage". This made their eyes glow yellow and caused an imbalance between strength levels. It was grinding the two universes together into the same space, which would eventually destroy both of them if the big bad evil guy wasn't stopped.

I'm so shocked they actually allowed Super heroes to be killed lol. I remember being mad that the violence was toned down, but I forgot they still had fatalities.

Shazam is the name of the wizard. His name was Captain Marvel for the longest time. Eventually Marvel comics owned the rights to the name so DC couldn't keep the name Captain Marvel. DC owns the character, Marvel owns the name. So Marvel made a rush job and made the Captain Marvel you know to hold that name and DC changed the name to Shazam to avoid any lawsuits. Long story short Marvel hated the idea that Marvel Comics wouldn't own the name Captain Marvel and beat DC to the punch to owning the name.

Hey guys, this is totally random, but the narrator reminded me of Fallout, in Fallout New Vegas they play these intro segments for the DLC, and they're real cool to just see as you start up a new part of the game. Just as well there are final cutscenes that tell you a conclusion to everyone's story based on your decisions in the normal game and DLC, the games quite old but the story still holds quite a bit of weight, I would love to see a reaction if you can figure it out. The dlc for New Vegas are Honest Hearts, Old War Blues, Sierra Madre, and finally, The Divide.

FYI: Captain Marvel is his title, "Shazam" is the name of the wizard who created the Captain Marvel power and what the host of the Captain Marvel power has to shout to transform into him. Over time, the fact that he says "Shazam" became the most iconic thing about him to the point that people just started calling him Shazam.
