The US version is very different to the UK version in that the US version quickly became a sitcom and the cameras following the cast around weren't really that important to the story - you could even forget that they were supposed to be on "mockumentary" and it was clear that you were watching a fictional comedy. The UK version preserved this atmosphere that it was a reality show and that they were real people being filmed in their naturally awkward behaviour.

Fonzleberry yeah they are genius and very subtle which happen twice near the start of the interview, they are very easy to miss I agree, I didn't notice until many years after watching the original series that he was doing this. There is another instance of him doing this, again very subtle, with a meeting with his boss in the first episode I think, Jenny, when they are sat down on couch.

I love British humor. It seems to be more sarcastic, dirtier, wittier, more complex and far less obvious, which works for me. But I get how many of my friends don't get it. And I still can't believe that some people have no idea that the BBC version of The Office came before the American one, thanks to Gervais and Merchant, who also wrote Extras. If you love this kind of humor, please watch those vids. They are both characters in it.
