Barry Sanders had inhuman agility. The man could start, and stop at damn near full speed. He was quicker laterally than most running backs were when they were running north to south.

Correction: He DID have the best, just not the coolest-looking. It's the best because that one run had a bigger result, a super bowl victory. Edit: I forgot that it says most “DOMINANT” so nvm 😂

For those who don’t know. Look up javonte Williams run against the ravens last season. That was by far and by definition the most dominant run in 2021

2021 on this list wasn’t even dominant. Taylor is good but that specific run was not dominant.

@@kalof3l51 10 defenders in the box, with two veteran former All-Pros unblocked within an arms reach of JT. JT’s dominance is shown in that the Patriots played the call perfectly, but JT is just that good, it doesn’t matter what you do.

Lamar Jackson's Run vs the Bengals in 2019 was crazy. His run vs the Texans takes the cake for me though.

Agreed. Though, if my memory of being glued to ESPN in the mid-to-late 90s serves me well, some of Smith's most incredible runs came the same season Barry Sanders was chewing up yardage. Week by week, it was like waiting to see who would barely upstage the other.

As great as that game winning TD against Minnesota was, I'd argue that Vick's best run in 2002-03 was in the playoffs when he threw a GB defender down with one hand and completely reversed field from like 10 yards back to a first down. He was one lucky hand trip away from running it all the way.

Thanks to Vick I won a lot of money on that Minnesota game. The only way I could win in OT was with a Falcon TD and those were the days when OT games basically always ended on field goals… so I’m ok with their choice

That call was decent. I am glad we got the Frank Herzog call of Riggins; that is one of my favorite radio calls of all time. The emotion of it is perfect for a high stakes play that went for a TD in the SB (recall that the Dolphins were down and called that play on 4th and 1).

Three of them are Bo Jackson and two are Marcus Allen. The Raiders backfield with Bo and Marcus is hands down the best backfield in NFL history. Bo was a cheat code.

Watching Barry Sanders run was a treat. Growing up in Austin, I saw a lot of Emmitt Smith and he was great in his own right. But Barry kept you glued to the set because you never knew what he was going to do. Even his 2 yard loss runs kept you on the edge of your seat.

While I was too young to remember the Elway run, that wasnt a dominant run. That was just iconic. There has to be better runs that year, especially with Davis alone pounding the rock on his own team

I respect John and am happy he got his rings at the end of his career, but I'm sure there were better runs that year. I think the helicopter moment in the SB is slightly overrated.

Those were some amazing runs. Hard to pick a favorite. Bo’s sheer speed was crazy. Walter Payton showed why they called him Sweetness. Beast Mode threw Tracey Porter out of the damn stadium. Derrick Henry was amazing. Steve Young’s run was something.

Still the best to ever do it. I quite enjoy Aikman and Buck as well as Nantz and Romo. But they are still well behind these 2. Something about Summerall and his play by play style was great. Maybe cause he was a former player idk. And of course Madden was the perfect compliment to that.

Some guys are just built different, such as Marcus Allen, Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson, Ladainian Tomlinson, and Adrian Peterson. Absolute beasts as runners. Derrick Henry isn't on that level yet but if he keeps going, he could be. (Forgot to mention, Steve Young's 2 runs were legendary.)

Beast Quake is the all-timer for me. He caused broken / missed tackles for 9 of the 11 players who lined up for the Saints at the start of the play. 56 and 96 for New Orleans are the only players that don't think they have him in their sights.

If there was ever a player whom I wished could have won a super bowl, he would be towards the top of the list. He made all his halfbacks better wherever he went, he was a player who was as tough as they came, and to top it off he started with the ball on the Music City Miracle play.

It's amazing to me that Barry didn't get every single year in the 90s. He was the embodiment of a highlight reel. Loved to see the love for the great, great RBs of the Raiders in the 80s. I believe it was 2 from Marcus Allen, including the iconic Super Bowl run against Washington, and 3 from Bo including the also iconic MNF run into the tunnel. Mostly this was an awesome video but as other have stated, a few of these runs didn't belong like the John Elway play (although impressive), and the NE run in the Super Bowl -- James White I think? The Jonathan Taylor one was nice but I'm pretty sure there were more dominant runs last year than that.

Don't know who noticed but Lorenzo Neal had his own run in '93 (lined up as lead full backin a 3 point stance in an I formation) and was also the lead fullback for both LT's runs and Le'Ron McClain's run. In sight lead full backs were awesome and Lorenzo Neal=awesome runs

According to this Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Bo Jackson, and Marshawn “BeastMode” Lynch are the goats. Great runs. Marshawn’s run in Seattle was the greatest.

The fact that they didn't show any of Chubb's runs (who had more than one that was BETTER than Tailor) like against, the Chargers, or even the Bengals for 2021 is such a disgrace. Dude had the best runs among rbs last years and it wasn't even close. He's ALAWAYS second in rushing too when splitting carries. He deserves respect. 💪

The Chiefs had Joe Delaney, Christian Okoye, Marcus Allen, Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Jamaal Charles and Kareem Hunt in this stretch and didn't get one of them on the list.

As a Bostonian, I’d argue LGB’s run against the Steelers in the 2016 AFCCG was better than whites run. Obviously whites run meant a little more 😉☺️

In Barrie's third seasons, people were starting to catch him at the goal line. The next season, he was faster than ever. I loved seeing Sweetness. I remember that particular run.
