Essien in his prime was the near perfect midfielder, he could do EVERYTHING. And had a tendency to score huge goals in huge games. Big time player. I miss 2000s Chelsea and EPL

Gilberto was one of the most underrated player ever. He was very influential on and off pitch but rarely mentioned, people only remember vieira keane etc when it comes to DM

Keane and vieira were box-to-box rather than DM. But yeah, Gilberto was great, and an unsung rock in those early 2000s arsenal / Brazil sides

Sorry but… the BEST Arsenal vs Chelsea game in HISTORY was the Judgement Day match in December 2004. Mourinho’s first match against Arsenal… minus the Arsenal vs Man United build ups, this game was THE BEST build up ever done by SkySports

God alone knows how Chelsea didn't win that first game in 2006. Essien and Lampard should have scored the chances where Lehmann had no chance, he made some other good saves. The difference was Chelsea had Hilario in goal who let a shot aimed at the centre of his goal go in.
