Before tonights Stanley Cup game 5, the Vegas Golden Knights filed to trademark CUP IN SIX. For those that don't know, Bill Foley, before there was ever even a Vegas roster, said he was setting the goal of a Stanley Cup in 6 years. Playoffs in 3 and Cup in Six. And thats where the Cup in Six comes from. At the time, not only did that seem impatient, but no one thought it was even remotely a possibility. The team was seen as a group of misfits and that Vegas would be terrible for years to come. Not only did they make the playoffs that year, they made it to the Cup Final against the Capitals. Well, 5 years later and in their 6th season, the Vegas Golden Knights are officially Stanley Cup Champions! Bill Foley was spot on with his Cup In Six prediction. Draft!!! I would LOVE to get some info about prospects and minor/junior league players. Everyone's heard of Bedard, but who else is gonna be in the first round? Trade!! UFA and off season trades are gonna be CRAZY this year. Really curious how some teams *cough*Penguins*cough* are going to handle it.

Great take. Thank you for reminding everyone that the Knights were predicted to SUCK for a long time with their misfit roster. I am a lifetime hockey fan (53). Vegas local for 25 years. Knight fan for SIX. To all the haters, to all who say the NHL is rigged… They hate us, cause they ain’t us.

they were expected to suck by people who don't know math. you have low taxes/good weather/and a stacked expansion draft, this was all done according to the nhl's plan. go get a copy of easports and darft those players, you'll get this result.

And what I love about it? Vegas beat Edmonton to get to it. And eichel wasn't just there he was putting in the work too. Man showed that while he may not be the best goal scorer he was doing everything right to win. 3 point per game in the finals atleast if I'm not mistaken

Not really a fan of either team. But was pulling for FL to get it, but after their fans display at the end of game 4, I wanted Vegas to take the cup since I felt Panthers fans did not deserve a cup celebration after acting like they did at the end of that game.

Being from NJ & born into a NYR’s family (ikr), I was SOOOO HAPPY that the first professional sport would be an NHL team!!! I’ve been here 35 years & to have a team, born here, after a horrific mass shooting that DIDN’T suck. Just phenomenal!!! Those of you that think what do people in the desert know about hockey? Truth is, the majority of people that live here ARE transplants from all over the world. And it was a HELLUVA party/parade!!! 😊

Good Job Vegas......go hire as many Canadian players as possible.....then win a cup. Gotta love that the Canadian players always bring the cup back to canada when they win it. 25 American teams vs 7 Canadian teams.....all of them have Canadian players. Vegas has 5 players from Manitoba, Canada, alone.......american teams CANT win WITHOUT Canadian stars, that's why the American teams PAY MORE than Canadian teams.

McPhee and McCrimmon know what they're doing and '18 SCF run changed everything in terms of their vision. They've admitted as much. So they kept the character guys, brought in play makers and/or winners aka Petro & Marty. This yr was a clinic. The West had seven teams hit triple digits in pts. Home ice was up in the air for three mos. And VGK went wire to wire playing big games all yr when their pt lead dwindled to a tie or single pt with Edm & LA on their ass. They went 26-7-8 on the road. Cassidy knowing and excelling in the East is an asset. Beat Boston in Boston too. Earned home ice. Then their playoff run speaks for itself. Dominating. We apologize for Nothing. lol

Honestly I feel bad for Bob. We is such a good goalie. Sure I'm a Vegas fan but I feel like he deserved better. But he did really good this during the playoffs.

Just a great story. What else can you say ? the sound of wincing envie from other fanbase has a similar echo to what Montreal fans enjoyed hearing in the 70s , the constant whining of other fanbase about how privileged and lucky the Habs always were about this or about that. I’m thinking some Vegas fans think it’s the most beautiful music in the world. they can’t get enough of this passionate chorus lamenting how unfair it all is. Envie is a sin. Virtuous Vigorous Valiant and Victorious Vegas. Thy Stanley Cup Prophecy is upon us all. Urbanites from SinCity please savour this delicacy. The road to the finals was paved with the blood of mediocre defenseman and goaltenders, with Florida and Bob taking part as the cresendo to yet another year of the Western Conference finalist memeing their way in, meanwhile out East it was a fight to the death.

I saw it coming when they conveniently changed the expansion team rules were changed the year Vegas became a franchise. They also have the money to pay off some officials. Vegas season was bought. Don't get me wrong, they're a great group of players but there was a lot of soft calls in their favor
