Award-winning TODAY show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie takes the Bush Center stage to discuss her new book, “Mostly What God Does”. Guthrie, who has been with NBC News since 2007 - including a stint as White House correspondent during the Bush Presidency - describes the book as “certainly the most personal and vulnerable thing I’ve ever done.”
In this collection of essays, Guthrie shares why she believes that in these uncertain times, believing in the power of divine love makes the most sense. Our audience will hear personal stories from her own joys and sorrows as a daughter, mother, wife, friend, and professional journalist. Charlotte Jones will moderate what is sure to be an inspiring and entertaining conversation.

I never knew that Savannah was a woman of faith. What a sweet testimony that speaks to me and I’m sure to a lot of people. Relationship to Jesus is what people need to hear. Thank you!

I think it’s sad that people are criticizing her for writing a book, as if she’s doing for monetary gain only. I have a Baptist background and I remember learning about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how one is the gift of faith. Another is the gift of prophecy. That may night be her gift but if only one person is open to learning more about God by her saying “come as you are”, it would have accomplished the goal. Shame on you for putting negative connotations to this interview, by saying “she didn’t say this or that”.

@cindychurch335 Eyes wide open. If you invoke the word of the Lord, uphold the word of the Lord. If you were paying attention to her during the Obama years, you'd know she went along with, for one, pro-choice. By the way, the anti-christ will look and sound sound convincing. Eyes wide open.

I pray your book touches many people life & hearts. I went through a deep trial years ago when my husband deserted my sons & I. I was devastated because he did not financially support us. I went through deep depression and hopelessness. One night I cried out to God to help me and shortly after that my life turned around. It didn't happen overnite but I knew he heard my prayers and restored hope & joy in my life again. I can testify that God hears our prayers and he answers in his time. He is faithful.

God loves us, but He also punishes sin. The only way we can have a relationship with God is through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Having Faith in God is a beautiful thing, but you cannot have Faith in God without first giving your heart and life to Jesus. Jesus said no man comes to the Father, but by me. The sad thing is that there was no Mention of Jesus Christ, only God. We fail to realize, that there are many Gods that people pray to, but their is only one Savior, Jesus Christ. Also, Jesus healed so that people could live, not die. I just hope and pray that this book talks about Jesus and the Holy Spirit as well, because you can't have one without the other! Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and there is no other way to heaven, except through him. Speak The Name Of Jesus 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 🙏🙏

Repentment?????Luke 13:3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish...what about Sin ??? Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, What about Jesus and calling in His name and believing??? Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ....is not just love,love and Love ...He loves us but also the rest is part of the equation......

There are serval that might help. NIV CSB ERV Go to your book store and read serval to see what is easier for you. Also, even if you do not believe start in the book of John and before you read speak your thoughts: Jesus, don’t believe, but if there is something here for me show me. Work throughout John and just see what comes of it. What have you got to loose? J. Warner Wallace is a detective from California that didn’t belong til he set out to prove that it was all a lie and everything changed.

The Bible she comes up with to make her look like she knows what she's talking about. Beware the false. Go back and see what her words were during the Clinton and Obama years when redefining marriage and abortion were hot topics.

Sorry!!! God is not responsible for all the bad things that happens to us. We have free will!!! We do those things. We cause ourselves harm! Or others cause harm to ourselves and our families. I had a stroke when I was 48yo. Did God “gave me” the stroke? No! I did! Not knowingly… but my diet caused the stroke. God saved me!!! After 2 and a half months in the hospital I learnt to walk again and faced a lot of challenges… but GOD SAVED ME! I did not die! I did not become bed ridden! And today I am me again, only better!!! With God in my life!!!

Wow, another book on only one side of the Gospel. Of course God loves us, but the reason we must be saved is because God has a big problem with us, gets angry at our sin and unbelief, and will pass His judgement on us. I would refer Savannah to Romans 1, and the doctrine of moral depravity that we inherited from Adam. After our salvation, only then are we reconciled with God, can have access to Him, and have hope in heaven. Can we please tell the whole Gospel and not just part of it?

What? The Gospel, by definition is Good News. All sides of the Good News are good, the mercy, the grace, Him becoming sin, please explain to me the bad side of the Gospel.

My poor choice of words- Certainly not bad- My issue is in 2024 we only want the kind of Jesus that fits our narrative. The "Love Jesus" "The Santa Claus Jesus" that gives us the stuff we want. We as Believers (and the lost) must read and understand the first chapter of Romans to see why we need His mercy, grace, becoming sin. That was my point. Romans answers why we need God.@@nantrainor3263
