Saying bag repairs dont exist or that this is unique is also a joke, shoe, handbag, all these repairs have existed for a long time. Leather-working has existed for thousands of years. Interesting. Back in the late 80's I did much the same thing, on a much smaller, local only scale with with western saddles---saddles which range in price from 150.00 to thousands of dollars, depending on the brand, condition and age. For set amounts ranging from 25.00 to 100.00 per, I'd go to the stable or home and thoroughly clean, polish silver or brass and refinish a saddle..with different pricing if I did antiques, harnesses or English saddles. referring repairs to a couple of reputable repair shops. I DID restore an antique leather art nouveau style 1900's purse once, I bought for 1.00 at an auction and after restoration sold for 75.00

Why is it so unnerving to see them with that half-smile just staring at the dragons as they pitch? To me, they were never really interested in getting investment, they were only there to advertise to the British viewers that they have a franchise rolling out in their country. I don't think they cared at all what the dragons had to say, which makes sense with her remark of "proving the dragons wrong". She just straight up wasn't listening to them

you can tell this is less of a family business co-owned by two business partners and more of a mum who runs a business and gives her daughter tasks to complete. if they were truly business partners, the daughter should have some say in how the business was pitched but she got completely steamrolled. such a shame

The daughter would of bundled the company in my opinion. The mom clearly was the one who informed her prior to entering the den they wouldn't be budging on the matter. At the start of the pitch the mom said "she handles the day to day but I make the final decisions" and then all the faces the daughter made when discussing the figures about the franchise, she had a frustrated gaze towards the mom. A shame.

"I really don't think they quite got the concept of what we were trying to do." No. They *_DEFINITELY_* "got it" there. They said the business, as a whole, was potentially investible but because you were trying to separate a lucrative part of it to keep for yourselves you lost all interest. Was like that guy who told Doug Richards "I'm sorry you got that impression" from his pitch and Doug flatly replied "I'm sorry you gave it." Like Sarah said, they were trying to "have their cake and eat it" and every Dragon "got" that.

They can't compare the business in Qatar to anywhere else, the people there will pay much more for repairs than in other countries and so they where able to get 80K for the franchise. There is no way to get such a high number from other countries.

If the dragons had done the investment solely on the "franchising" side and increased its sales from proper PR and Marketing not just internationally but nationally as well, their repair shop in the UK in turn would also naturally get more sales. The repair shop wasn't on the table therefor the Dragons wouldn't be getting any returns from it, even though they would be indirectly increasing its profits from the franchise business side....l think the Mother and Daughter Duo were quite cunning but just not smart enough to execute their scheme. (If that is what their intention was, making the Dragons work for one business which caused both businesses an increase in profits which only the Duo would reap from).

I think sometimes the dragons need to be aware that people come from their little corners of the earth and don’t always know what they are doing. Instead of being “annoyed”, if they like the business why not explain to them where they are going wrong and provide a counter proposal.

wow - I used to think the dragons were arrogant. Now, I see the necessity of thick scales due to the many snakes are out there. Most of them are just trying to get publicity or trying to be sneaky, or just straight-up lying and showing no remorse when they get their hand caught in the cookie jar. The audacity some of these 'entrepreneurs' have, to not come prepared. Have answers to the basic questions ready, maybe include them in the pitch? Research the people you're asking gobs of money from. I wonder what casting's user personas look like: 1.Insanely delusional, 2. In need of a verbal lashing, 3. Will be very confident until basic questions are asked. All very entertaining.

I’ve had loads of designer bags I’ve chucked in the bin due to damage that probably could have been restored but I didn’t even know was an option at the time although I wouldn’t have paid £150 for that if it’s more expensive than the bag… sometimes it’s just better off buying a new one
