This is really touching. I went to a boarding school for highschool and I wanted to just be a day student but my mom pretty much decided that I would be living at school despite my opposition. I ended up liking it but I get why Devi’s situation is different and think this was the right move for them.

If this was the case in india, mother would have shifted to the school location, mostly right outside school or college, 😂 with full boriya bisthara, and made special food every weekends and packed some food with pickles and specialties.... and the kid would have got luggage full of soiled clothes, which would have been washed at home. No wasting a year. I know of mums, who have put their children to school ahead of their age (even though mim age required is x, they put them before x years). Infact, unless my child says, stay away mum, we have full plans to do what I just wrote above. My mum in law did the same with her daughter. And I plan to do the same with mine..what else do we do? Read a book? No ways. We have read enough.
