You nailed it! I went to school with their first photographer and lived down the street were their first photo shoot took place. I seen London and I was at their first show. I've been to their apartment. The darkness you picked up on was no joke. They were heavy into satanic worship it wasn't a gimmick. Lita Ford mentions it and other people have mentioned seeing knives fly from the table and stick in the ceiling. I didn't see anything like that but it was very uncomfortable I never went back. Seriously Vince gets away with murder Nikki can't play bass they go from playing clubs to playing the us festival in 2 years

I am listening to your stories and laughing because I was doing the same thing here in Las Vegas. I was working as a DJ at a radio station as well as doing shows. Hitting all of the concerts and do "Extra-Curricular" things on the side. Great stories brother.

Hungout with motley a bunch of times back in 80's Similar situation, my buddy dealt cocaine . I'm actually from New Haven area, met Motley 1st time at US Fest back in May of 83 in San Bernardino Fun times, but Lemmy by far was the koolest cat I ever partied with

I remember looking at the shout at the devil tape case for the first time in the Jr high cafeteria. It definitely made me feel a certain way I can still remember. Kind of the same way I felt when a kid put on Metallica, ride the lightning. Fight fire with fire was the first song, and I didn’t know what to think, other than I wanted more.

So great your recollection of these nights! I agree with the fact that they changed the game.I was a huge KISS fan and was depressed they took off the make-up,Motley Crue filled the void,long before I started playing guitar in Colorado! tone raven-gtr/voc We Are The Black Things

I respect that KISS took off the make-up for their growth,but for a 12 year old kid that I was ,it sucked,that's why Motley at that time meant so much to me,and still does!tone raven

Maybe you ( or someone ) can verify this: Based on a few limited photos I've seen of the band wearing transitional costumes/clothing between 'Shout' and 'Theater', it seems like TOP was initially going to be ( visually ) a much darker presentation than the pink and white...thing. Yes? No?

Hello Brother.Just found your channel last night and watched your Vinny Vincent Invasion story.Great story man! I have a Vinny Vincent story myself that is pretty funny but I’m not here for that.I would like to know if you can fill me and your viewers in (if you decide to make a video about it) on the night LA Guns unceremoniously played at the Iron Maiden /Guns n Roses gig at Irvine Meadows in 1988.I was at that show and LA Guns wasn’t on the bill yet still came out to play since Guns n Roses wouldn’t come out.It seems that Axle was fucked up before the show and Slash was definitely fucked up because when LA Guns came out and started playing the crowd wasn’t having it and started throwing shit onto the stage.In order to get the crowd to calm down they brought Slash out to play a song with LA Guns and the roadies had to hold him up for him to play which pissed him off and he started pushing the roadies off of him which got Slash booed off the stage as well.If you were there that night my question is how far in advance did you guys know you were needed to play and What in the hell happened backstage that night? I wasn’t an LA Guns fan at the time.I was all about Iron Maiden but I felt bad for them.They didn’t deserve that kind of treatment.Keep up the great content brother!

You keep mentioning they didn't sound the greatest and that Tommy held the band together. Tommy's a mediocre drummer at best. Mick is the best musician in Motley and always has been and without Mick Motley wouldn't have gotten to where they did.
@beforeiforget1985
@beforeiforget1985 2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Mick is great. Seasoned. Professional. I have much respect for Mick Mars. Tommy was a much better drummer back in 84 than he is now for sure. The sound for the band was not good on that tour. Micks guitar sound was not defined, and in a half empty arena sounded like crap. I’m not blaming Mick, could be the sound man, could be other things. But Tommy’s drums were always out front in the mix from hearing them on this tour a half dozen times. Tommy was on top then Mick then Vince and Nikki mixed lowest.
@cdnrock7433
@cdnrock7433 2 жыл бұрын
As a former FOH soundman it was more then likely a poor mix from an inexperienced soundman that didn't now how to mix for a large venue.
