I just got a bolt R. I was going to get the 883 sportster, but the price difference made up my mind. I got the crash bar, passenger seat, sissy bar, passenger pegs, for a lower price. Plus it’s a Yamaha, well known for their reliability.

Just scored a low mileage 2014 for $3500. I stopped riding sport bikes 10 years ago and was curious about getting back into riding, the Bolt seemed like a low risk option at the price. I hope I'm happy with the power, I'm not expecting much, but my last bike had 90+ ft/lbs of torque and over 100hp.

I just got the Bolt R spec a few weeks ago. Traded in my Yamaha R6 that I owned for 6 years. I love the bike! It’s comfortable, it looks amazing, it sounds good with a pipe on it, and it makes enough power. Not to mention the price is good.
@brandon_9453 жыл бұрын
MrMoneyHelper I haven’t experienced any of the heat issues. No part of my body has gotten hot due to the engine. It’s a very comfortable ride. This includes city riding when sitting at stop lights and the bike getting warm. I personally haven’t had issues with the air filter sticking out but that could but easily resolved anyway. Just through an open air filter on it. I have the R spec piggy back shocks and I think the suspension is great. The speedometer is a common complaint, and while I agree it’s odd to have a circular display but display the speed in a square box, I really don’t mind it and I appreciate the simplicity. I don’t have issues reading the speed. All in all I have about 1,500 miles on the bike now and I still love it and think it’s a very good cruiser bike

I picked up a similar bike just recently, the yamaha scr950. I have to agree that the mirrors need extensions is nothing else just to be able to see around your elbows. My only other complaints would be that my right knee is always into the air intake because of its positioning and the position of the right peg just feels so much farther out then the left. Other then that it's a great, low maintenance bike with plenty of power but they could've given it a much better speedometer/tach. Cheers.

The Indian Scout 20 with the bobber seat and mini apes is a far better bike and better bargain. It's a customized bobber style bike that is VERY comfortable and feels so badass. I've been on one, and I've been on a Bolt. I would get the Indian over the Bolt any day. There is a large cost difference though...about $5k. But the Indian is a larger displacement engine as well, and there are SO many customization options from Indian that can be added to their bikes, such as floorboards, bags, backrest, etc. If you have the extra funds, go for the Indian, and it also has forward controls, vs the Bolt has very cramped up mids. God bless you and safe riding. ✝👍🏻

It was that dealership. Fast forward 6 months later, I went to other dealerships such as Honda, Triumph, BMW and even the Yamaha dealership where they shot that Rapper singer in Pompano Beach, FL 2 or 3 months ago. Anyhow, they all told me that it was a ridiculous policy and the manager of the store even said "Maybe they just didn't want to sell it to you". Because no one in their right mind will send you to the competitor. So yeah, It was my bad luck. In Hindsight, they were right. I was real angry at that time and when I got to the Harley dealership, they were real nice to me and of course, I didn't talk that much and I didn't say to any of them that I was a new rider. What was cool about the Harley dealership was that they let me try out the bike out on the road. So yeah, it was that one dealership policy.

@@hialeahsbest6479 thanks for clarifying. Wonder what Yamaha would say if they knew.

I LOVE my 2014 Bolt. By no stretch of the imagination would the Honda Rebel 500 or ANY Rebel come close to the performance of the Bolt. I had one and there is no way that Honda could keep up with my Bolt. Sorry but I think you are delusional. The heat must really be getting to you. LOL.

Yeah he was making the wrong comparison. The most direct competitors is the HD Sportster Iron 883. Otherwise great video.
