"My loving people! We see the sails of the enemy approaching. We hear the Spanish guns over the water. Soon now, we will meet them face to face. I am resolved in the midst and heat of the battle to live or die amongst you all! While we stand together, no invader shall pass. Let them come with the armies of hell! They will not pass! And when this day of battle is ended, we meet again in heaven or on the field of victory."

They should have used Elizabeth's actual speech. It was far more inspiring.

Why wouldn't you include one of the most famous and iconic quotes in English history? "I know I have the body but of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too". Most of Cate's speech is completely different from what Elizabeth actually said

I'm i the only one hearing that, it sounds like this scene was recorded in a studio. Her voice sounds so controlled like she's in a big hall talking

Maybe it was. Lots of scenes have the audio overdubbed with studio recordings, especially scenes filmed "outside".

The rolling of the canons looks good for the movie but was unnecessary because by the time of Elizabeth's speech the armada was already on it's way back to Spain.

It’s a horse with people screaming nearby. Do you think we would have bought it if it acted like an obedient puppy and heeled? Then again the whole idea of a land battle was made up so I really don’t think reality matters.

People who heard it wrote down what they remembered. No exact copy of the speech exists. It is accepted that she was there, looked like a total badass in armor, and gave a good speech.
