Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) must fight Dagoth, the Dreaming God, who was brought to life by Queen Taramis (Sarah Douglas).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on a character created by Robert E. Howard, this fast-paced, occasionally humorous sequel to Conan the Barbarian features the hero (Arnold Schwarzenegger) as he is commissioned by the evil queen Taramis (Sarah Douglas) to safely escort a teen princess (Olivia D'Abo) and her powerful bodyguard (Wilt Chamberlain) to a far away castle to retrieve the magic Horn of Dagon. Unknown to Conan, the queen plans to sacrifice the princess when she returns and inherit her kingdom after the bodyguard kills Conan. The queen's plans fail to take into consideration Conan's strength and cunning and the abilities of his sidekicks: the eccentric wizard Akiro (Mako), the wild woman Zula (Grace Jones), and the inept Malak (Tracey Walter). Together the hero and his allies must defeat both mortal and supernatural foes in this voyage to sword-and-sorcery land.

No matter how many different special effects they had in this movie, Arnold’s physique you couldn’t build over night or on set, to me he was in his top best movie shape other than T-1 and predator.

Arnold accepted the Terminator role prior to making this sequel. He was under contract to make it, so Cameron had no choice to wait till he was done before they could start production.

You have to root for Arnie as he slowly tears off the horn.... at first it's coming off so slowly, then more guts appear, more and more.... he's really doing it! Then, the tear gets more advanced and blood gushes out, he's really going to do it!! Then he finally tears it off, Yay!! Then he destroys the monster with a sword thrust. Just beautiful, the triumph of strength and beauty over evil!

I didn't know until years later that was Andre the Giant in the demon costume. Heh it actually does some "wrestling" holds against Conan (test of strength, head crush/choke). Even the monster atop that crystal palace with the mirrors does some wrestling moves !

You'll find a lot of Lovecragftian lore/deities in some of the Conan books; Dagoth, Thoth-Amon, Ancient Ones, Nyarlethotep, the monstrous army and Yog-Saggoth in Conan the Valorous if I'm remembering it correctly. The authors, including John Maddox Roberts, took inspiration from Lovecraft

Not only did Malik score a beautiful head shot with the knife, consider from where he was standing, 10 feet BELOW the monster, he literally had to put it RIGHT PAST Conan's ear to do it. At 1:11 you see the reverse perspective Malik had and the absolutely tiny window of opportunity to do what he did.

Love Conan. . . but no denying that Malik is the unsung hero here. Conan was in a bind with nothing to do, and Malak's dagger throw made Dagoth release Conan. . . Such an epic movie. I loved it and Conan the Barbarian.

they don't make these kinds of raw movie action adventure anymore. Something about the camera, editing, the actors. Nowadays, it's just boys that look like girls and girls that look like boys. Back then, you have Arnold and Sylvester Stallone. A real big action star.

I read that in the script was nentioned that Dagon become so monstrous because at the time of the sacrifice Bombata was killed instead of the princess and he was a virgin too

This part is oddly similar to a part in a Hercules movie. "Hercules and the captive women". Hercules had to tear the horn from a super natural being to kill it. The being was called Morpheus, I think.

I know that first movie is a pure poetry and monumental memory on dear Two Gun Bob but this scene pretty messed me up as a kid,every time when i had to go to dentist i had picture in my mind how Conan rip that horn from skull of Dagoth and boy oh boy the pain was bigger just cause of that xd

Damn.. Conan was about to level up 5+ levels with ALL THAT SOLO EXP but now he has to share the exp due to 0:42 and 1:08... -_- Also, just how did the congregation that worshiped Dagoth and wanted to bring it to life, anticipate on communicating with it? "Hey uh boss, we need approval for 200 Damascus steel swords but need your approval because we're on a tight budget and Amal is selling them at 150 gold coins a piece when they're only worth 50 coins.
