While Congress decides the Public Land Act, Evan (Steve Carell) crashes his Ark full of animals straight into the Capitol Building.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
40-Year-Old Virgin star Steve Carell reprises his role as preening newscaster Evan Baxter in this heavenly sequel to the 2003 Jim Carrey comedy hit. Shortly after television anchorman-turned-U.S. congressman Evan Baxter (Carell) relocates his family from Buffalo to Northern Virginia, God (Morgan Freeman) reveals to him that a devastating flood is coming and the planet is about to be cleansed once again. Later, when Baxter accepts the responsibility of building a great ark and his rapidly changing physical appearance begins to draw media attention, his skeptical family attempts to discern if his actions are driven by delusion or divine intervention. for the script yes I agree with you in the complex I have internal fights for the simple fact that Jim Carrey was the protagonist in Bruce Almighty. also I appreciated the detail of the background wolf's growling paired with the camera on the Congress member's faces

This film is so unrealisistic. You can see in the background a large portion of the military turns up at the capitol building after the boat does but in reality they have very little security or back up there.

Thing is, there are some Christians who believe (primarily friars and pastors) who believe some parts of this movie are "semi blasphemous" for lack of a better term. In one scene where God was explaining the while "when someone prays for strength or patience, does God zap them with feelings of courage and patience, or does he give them opportunities to be so." They would say that no, he doesn't give them opportunities, he actually GIVES them that strength and patience. But otherwise they believe that the movie portrays Christianity in a good light and accurately.

@@priscillajimenez27 Bruce Almighty-The main character is, at least for a good while into the movie, all about himself. Bruce Almighty-The main character is about serving others. That's why "God" could use him to help others...and only "God" knew what was going to happen next! Imagine how many people would have drowned, if Evan hadn't listened to "God", and did what he said to do. And as for Congressman Long? BUSTED!!!!!

The houses were going to be destroyed in the flood anyway. They were new build houses in spitting distance of a shoddily built dam. They were already goners before they put up the 'For Sale' sign.

The main point of the flood was to prove that Long's dam sucked and to expose his corruption. It's evident by how the ark just parked itself in front of Congress without crashing into the building. Basically, it's God and Evan saying "look what you did."

You know what's super funny about this movie? The actual story of the biblical flood can be traced back to the story of a Babylonian king who's river valley was flooded. He escaped the flood on a barge, allegedly carrying livestock, and when the river drained out into the sea and he swam to shore, he built a temple where he landed. Kind of funny when a parody of something is closer to the story of what most likely actually happened lol

The Bible is very different from heathen religion and tradition. Heathen religion generally misrepresents God's character, just as our modern day "super hero" movies do also. Jesus Christ, who came to show what God was like, was not a "super hero". His character was entirely different, and is diametrically opposed to the carnal man. We also have to realize that mankind has a tendency to misunderstand God's character in the Bible stories, and to make it like that of a heathen deity. But Jesus did not make that mistake. Nor do we need to, since we have the key of Christ's character to unlock any difficult parts.

1) To keep him focused on the ARK. 2) Help him build it in time. 3) Try to get the attention of the people bc if I saw that, I would be taking my loved ones on the ARK in a heartbeat. 4) God has a sense of humor. 5) It's not much of a Noah story without the two by two.

"The wrong shall fail, and the right shall prevail"! Congressman Long was guilty of profiteering. He had a certain amount of money set aside for the Dam, which was apparently worth Untold Millions of Tax Dollars, but had the Dam built with the cheapest products available, so that he could keep the rest of the money, and have Millions of Dollars of money at his disposal, to use at any time, and for whatever purpose, he wanted to use it for.

Yep, and after the flood he was stripped of his title, arrested, sent to a maximum security prison and beaten up by every religious inmate.
