FILM DESCRIPTION:
Young Keda tries to survive alone in the wilderness after he's left for dead during his first hunt with his Cro-Magnon tribe. He soon forms an unlikely alliance with a lone wolf that was abandoned by its pack. Facing overwhelming odds and nonstop danger, Keda and the wolf must now trek through a harsh and unforgiving landscape to make it home before winter.

This scene makes me cry...yet I love it because it's a perfect showcase of a canines loyalty. Treat your dog right & they will give up their life for you. Speaking from first hand experience. Around 10 years ago while walking my dog I got into some drama with a dude & he pulled a knife out, my dog didn't hesitate to attack & tackle the dude. He gave me enough time to knock the guy out with a punt to the head & try to get us out of there safely. Sadly my dog didn't survive. He was stabbed 4 times but he saved my life that day by giving up his....R.I.P Maka boy, I still & will always miss you buddy🙏. "Man's best friend"

I had a dog when I was about 5, she latched on to me and was the best companion I ever had. She was a greyhound cross whippit and had pups with our other dog George who was a German shepherd, she would always growl at anyone who went near them but would always let me near them. The bond between man and dog is sacred.

I kind of understand how you feel. I live in Northeastern Wisconsin, like Rockies northeastern, so i get to see a lot of wolves. Sometimes they would swing by my house and say hi becuase they know i don't carry a gun (Anti-gun). One day, after i had experienced a pretty bad breakup. I decided to try to drown myself in a (frozen) lake nearby. But, while i was walking along the ice, i saw the alpha wolf looking over. Shortly after, i fell through weak layered ice and realized how badly i wanted to live so i started thrashing, right when my lower half had frozen and i was still thrashing. I felt a pulling at the hood of my jacket, then at my back, then i was able to pull myself up the rest of the way. I passed out for a few hours only to see that the wolves had covered my legs and waist by laying on me. They were trying to make sure i wouldn't die of hypothermia. Now, whenever they come over, i give them some food so they may be able to do that type of thing for another human and get us to change how we think of them. The whole 'bloodthirsty' wolf thing. I trust those wolves more than i trust the government, my family or just healthcare buildings in general (cause they are free and kind and genuine).

I love how Alpha willingly risked her life for Keda, she has some serious guts, deep down she knows this is a fight she is not built to win but she isn't just gonna let Keda die. It goes to show the lengths she is willing to go through to protect Keda, putting her life on the line against a predator that can kill her with relative ease to keep Keda safe, she was outmatched by physical strength, weight, and size but her bravery and willpower is where her true strength lie.

It was supposably a cave lion but I think they just gave it saber teeth because a saber tooth cat is much more marketable for a movie that takes place during the ice age. I mean in my opinion, you can’t do an ice age movie without the ultimate celebrity of the ice age.

I'd have preferred they stuck to the cave lion, even the concept art was essentially this model minus the fangs. Adding in those teeth to what was basically an accurate depiction of a cave lion was unnecessary, and only propagates the meme that all ice age predators were sabertooths, when only a handful of species lived during this time, and none in Eurasia.

@@mountkilimanjaro2982 And this is not Smilodon. I really think it’s just a cave lion with an inaccurate pair of saber teeth. It’s just that the cave lion is a more famous feline of Ice Age Europe. It lived among humans in cold temperatures during the ice age. And it can’t be a machairodus because that cat didn’t coexist with humans in the same time period.

@AliZarar and idk about that, I’ve seen many ppl talk about how wolves and all wild animals really are more likely to run away than to fight because in nature a hurt leg or a broken bone might mean the death of you. Which is why wolves and coyotes howl during hunts to make sure they all still alive. I know a story of a dude who lived in Alaska for months at a time and he was getting hunted by a pack of wolves and he shot a couple of em and they ended up leaving him alone cuz the meal wasn’t worth the trouble to get 😂

Dogs on the other hand have been breed for hundreds or thousands of years to believe the life of their owner is more valuable than their own since I’f they do survive the battle they’ll probably survive due to getting extensive care by their owner. Like wild wolves might help feed an injured pack mate but it’s pretty obvious wolves don’t have the same medical system that humans do 😂

@@icommandyew8221 Eh I really don’t want to start an argument but let me just say I personally think they are both equally dangerous, cave lions were very big cats but saber tooth cats were made of pure muscle and were armed with two long knife like teeth so it kind of hard for me to say. It’s size vs. brawns and saber teeth. They both have they’re advantages. Again, I respect your thoughts but I also have my own.

Nah, some of the scenes (like some of the taming scenes or the fact that cave hyenas didn't even think of going to the cave) are dumb. 10 000 BC is the most underrated film.

I don't get it. I thought hyena's were only ever found in Africa, they would never have survived in Ancient North America. Am I missing something?

J Bourbon The story’s setting is not in North America, it’s in Pleistocene Eurasia, where dogs were first domesticated from wolves. Back then, spotted hyenas had a subspecies that existed across Eurasia, doing what hyenas do best, running down potential prey. I can see the confusion of location if you thought the big cat was a saber tooth, but it’s actually a cave lion (the creators confirmed it so). The creators added the saber teeth to make more menacing.

You could have some respect for the wolf. Yes, obviously she was at a disadvantage in the fight given the sabretooth's greater strength. Her reason for fighting is what drove her to do what she did. @The hyenas and wolves You really are stupid to think that killing cats will be good for society. Who gives crap about human society anyway, the earth has these animals for good reason and not just for them being a humans pet. But to keep unwelcomed guest around such as rodents and possibly keep the ecosystem in balance. Dogs hardly ever do that kind of work unless trained or by any chance instinctively hunts one if they ever do lay eyes on one. But the felines do more work on killing them those canines. I love dogs too by the way I have no hate for any of them and they aren't special creatures in this world like any other animal in the planet. If you're going to bring up about Australia's troubles with the feral cats. I am already aware, doesn't hurt me that much even tho it is sad but if it's to put their ecosystem back in balance that is most understandable.

@@doktorhyena No, hyena's bite is more powerful but wolves are braver and more agile. Also wolf packs are more crowded. I think wolves would win in a pack fight but in a 1v1, it depends. A strong wolf can kill a hyena but if hyena manages to land a bite, wolf would probably lose.

The guy clearly indicated that realistically, the wolf would have only lasted mere seconds against the cave lion, of course it didn’t die instantaneously. Also all big cats have specifically evolved to instantly kill their prey whether it’s instantaneous or just mere seconds, it’s exactly what evolution has designed them to do.

It has been known cats love to play with their pray before eating it. Even our house cats do the same with mice. This cat was merely playing with Alpha, then when Keda was gonna shoot it. The cat was on Alpha trying to kill her. That’s why she won.

a linguist (with input and general idea from producers) made a fictional language for the film since we don't know what the Solutreans spoke. I remember going to the movies and the subtitles with the language caught me off guard for a sec, but still one of my favorite movies to date. Yeah the subtitles are good and actions do speak louder than words anyway.

There are many species of saber tooth cats like Smilodon, homotherium, thylacosmilus, machairodus, the list goes on and on. And some of these saber tooth cats did have long tails and some can grow to be bigger than a tiger. And in the movie it was supposably a cave lion but they gave it saber teeth because any kind of saber tooth cat is much more marketable for a movie that takes place during the ice age.

It made soo courageous while watching a wolf fighting with the lion As she has no choice to rather to fight, since she knows he is not of his size but also she tried to defend his master without caring of her own soul as she loyal to his master and his master's last weapon. She fought because she is also a carnivores. Edit- 1:35 I love how alpha attacked as it had a power to at least disbalance the saber cat ALPHA!! _His name depicts his real trait_

Cave lions are prehistoric felines but they aren’t considered a species of saber tooth cats simply because they didn’t have saber teeth. And cave lions are more closely related to modern day lions while there are no direct descendants of saber tooth cats alive today.

They did the cave lion wrong, not all ice age cats had sabers only smilodon did and alpha would’ve been killed in that fight even without the saber teeth
