Oh wow, I had no idea this story was a movie. I was a teenager when this happened, living on the Vancouver coast. So sad...there was never justice for Reena.

I taught girls that age for 25 years. Many even most were compassionate, loving young adults, even if troubled. But trust me, kids who are teens today are truly capable of anything. We had a similar sounding case in Indiana I think in the 1990’s of teen girls torturing and murdering another teen girl.

I followed this case for years. It's so haunting.

In order to make up for her "loss" in this Oscar best actress category.. she would probably win in the next.. the Academy does have a peculiar way of correcting its misgivings.. Lily Gladstone deserved the Oscar.. but she should try to stay away from being typecast in true to life murder/mystery film.. try something light hearted or comedic..
@ralphee7487Ай бұрын
Please...Emma Stone killed it in Poor Things. She deserved it hands down. Lilly Gladstone will most likely be type casted for future roles so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
@lawrencelou3545Ай бұрын
@@ralphee7487 yeah Emma stone herself had the look of surprise when she won the Oscar.. she just copied Johnny Depp's Edward Scissor Hands and put some feminist spin to it.. and voila! An Oscar for woke times.. Just like Jodie Foster's first Oscar for The Accused.. because of its feminist stand robbed the more deserving award from Sigourney Weaver's Gorillas in the Mist..

Her emotional range is on par with Brie Larson. I don't understand why she's nominated for Oscar.
@NocturnalEmissionsАй бұрын
this comment is so fascinating to me. Because so much of her acting is in her eyes, her mouth, her voice. She’s not wailing or yelling or crying or even laughing and smiling, and for some reason when a woman acts with restraint, people don’t get it. I can say the same about Josh Brolin or Harrison Ford but for some reason people only say it about female actors. I think that’s interesting.

It doesn't look cheap, it looks low budget, like a Sundance movie
@deborahblackvideoediting8697Ай бұрын
Nothing wrong with low budget films/series, as long as they're well acted, written and directed. Some can be vastly superior to big-budget films.
