One is not lonely just because one is intelligent. Being gifted or genius is not a curse in any way. Yes one see the world absolutely differently. What is needed for many is to develop social capabilities, because, the world outside is so challenging, while it is easier to "lock up oneself" in one's own thoughts. It is much easier to observe and think, conclude, than to experience out there in the real.

There is a very solid reason that there is a hair widths difference between genius and insanity. The average or even above average intelligent people will struggle, at best, to understand the actions, reactions, personality types, etc of someone that legitimately possesses a genius level IQ. We don't have the capability to fully understand all of those things because the genius mind is already 5 steps ahead of us. It takes us more time to understand the methods and motives of a person with a much higher IQ. Much in the same way that kids on the autism spectrum tend to excel in mathematics and sciences but struggle with English and Social Studies classes. It's not that they are dumb in any way; their brain and mind simply work better for things that have structured systems and rules over things that have a rule set but seemingly have an exception to every rule. English class is the perfect example of this because you are taught "finite rules" of the English language like "I before E except after C" which does not cover all of the exceptions to that rule. But typically speaking the rules of Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Trigonometry, etc never change or have exceptions. They might show different ways to find an answer, but those routes will never contradict each other.

@SecureContainRedacted3 ай бұрын
@@Caitydid561As another with autism believe the biggest issue is all those who associate that of autism with that of being dumb. In reality, autistic people just think differently than others, and therefore can be smarter or at least come off as more intelligent/knowledgeable. For example, one of my favorite things to do in math goes like this: Let’s say the question is something more on the simple side, like 246 times 6. What I’d do is 246 x ten, which means I add a zero, making it 2460, then half it, which is 1230 making 246 x 5 1230, then add 246. 1230 + 246 = 1476 therefore 246 x 6 is 1476. This is just one example of how we think a bit more out of the box. To be honest though, autism is like drawing lots, you could either get life a bit harder, a bit easier, or if you hit the jackpot you become Einstein. TL;DR: Autism is highly complicated, and more often than not is judged wrongly

Yap, vicky young hensley. You are abslutely right. Straight observations. That's why you don't get even one thumbs up, of course, beyond mine :-)... If Einstein was ever tested, he would fail blatantly, partially because the tests would be biased towards the IQ of the best of the test makers - what THEY would be able to measure. Furthermore Einstein would fail because modern IQ-tests are on time, meaning that they favour quick-and-smart tests, and not IQ. You are so so right. Thanks for being another one :-)

A friend and I were doing work for this nice woman and she mentioned she had an autistic son. She told us that he he could complete a Rubik’s cube in 11 seconds. My friend was like “cool”. I was like “didn’t you say he was home?” She was thrilled that I wanted to meet him. She brings him downstairs I shake his hand and in the other hand a cube. In his pocket was another. He handed them to me and said to mix them up. I hand them to him and he solved the first one in 9 seconds and the second one in 7. I lost my shit. I was stoked. The boy found it amusing that I was so impressed. Mom was in tears smiling. The kid gave me a hug and went back upstairs. His mom thanked me many times for making his day. Truthfully my day was made too. I literally brag about this kid everywhere. It’s just amazing to me. Then there’s the autistic child that took only one helicopter ride over NY and then drew the skyline from memory. How can we compete with that?

Yea, but how much would you give for a connection to someone who understands you? When you're that intelligent, very few will. Most people are average, but you aren't and they treat you like they're better than you. Even when you know the objective truth that you're the pinnacle of mental evolution, the average always wins. Your intelligence will intimidate bosses and coworkers, who'll eventually turn on you for being 'too smart' (you make them look bad in their laziness). Your intimate partner can't and will never see the world through your eyes. Your heart is buried beneath an intellect that is bigger. That's a really cool kid, thanks for playing with him on his level. I must say, I feel bad for that child. Geniuses among the average people ARE NOT treated well.

@@muffledgiraffe4303You hit the nail on the head in so many areas. I was once called “opinionated” in a review, but my CIO (who wrote my review) added; “that term is usually used as a negative attribute, but with Steve, it isn’t negative at all. He will chime in often, even in areas of discussion that aren’t pertinent to his department, but his input is always positive and contributive.”. It was the first time I actually felt understood. At the same company, I once corrected our CFO when he suggested that the order of multiple discounts on an item changes the final price. We got a 10%, 3%, and 2% discount from a vendor, and he directed me to take them in descending order, in order to get the lowest price possible. I said it doesn’t matter which order I take them, it will only effect the value of each discount and the account I wanted to apply them (10% to COG, 3% to co-op, 2% to freight). After getting out our calculators and proving I was right, he said; “well good, my IQs still higher than yours”. I told him the last one I took was in 1981, when I was 13 or so, it was 139. He doubted me, saying his was 144 anyway, and set up for us both to take tests at the same time. This was around 1998 or so. He scored 139 exactly, I scored 154, lol. I’m now disabled at only 57, and have a tough time coping without the daily mental stimulation working gave me. Riddled with autoimmune diseases and a broken back, my mental and physical capacities continue to diminish. But it was great while it lasted. Glory days, lol…

I told her he is done before them because he knows all the subjects and they are not a challenge. Give him harder lessons. She replied I don’t have any I can give him. To which I told her, “then find some to challenge my child.” He is bored because his capacity to learn is not being fulfilled. I teach him at home challenging subjects but at school it is your job to challenge his mind. She taught him Morse code and other subjects not taught in school. @@ivanrayanguiano3217Hi! Ignore every expert that calls it "gifted and talented"! Most former "gifted" kids will tell you that it's not a gift, and nearly all of us needed help in school that we weren't getting because we were "so smart". Often, GT kids are developing in the reverse of their peers; while other kids are learning social skills, we're more focused on "book" learning. Then, when we're ready to work on people skills, there's no one there to teach us. For all of us who never learned to value hard work, please emphasize the importance of growth in failure. So many of us as adults are highly adverse to doing things we're not immediately good at, because we see immediate failure as long-term ineptitude. Work with your child; teach them the joy of accomplishing something even though they're not initially good at it. You'll have a happier, healthier child who is willing to try new things. If you're curious, try looking into "gifted kid syndrome" or "former gifted kids". There are so many people online who share their stories about being dismissed by medical professionals, only to find out later in life that they're autistic or have ADHD. Please fight with us, for your kid. God luck! ❤

@@MorganSaph iq is not being "better" with information it's the speed of processing information like you said, the quantity or complexity of the information is something we don't have an accurate measure for and call intelligence, they are often correlated and maybe even somewhat causated, but the person with the highest iq in history is not regarded as the smartest person in history for that reason (at least in my opinion, you may disagree), although you are right in that genius does only refer to iq, this comment was talking about being "smart" of which iq only had a part to play when it comes to how smart Einstein was

My oldest daughter was tested in Middle school and they placed her in the Gifted program but when she hit high school no such program. Instead I got a call from her Math teacher who said she was disturbing the class. I told him to challenge her…she’s bored in your class. He told me later that he thought…ya I’ll challenge her! He brought his college chemistry book. She loved it and poured through that book like it was a Harry Potter book. 😅. He thanked me for teaching him how to view a “trouble maker” in class differently. ❤

My brother was like this. When he was in first grade, he was tearing through the math workbooks, bored out of his mind. They had him doing 6th grade workbooks because that was the highest they had access to. He was behind in other areas but they tossed around moving him up to my grade. Decided not to. Me, I’m very math-challenged but gifted in English, reading, etc. I’ve pretty much failed every math class I’ve ever taken but drove my Astronomy 1010 professor nuts by asking him questions about theoretical physics. When he was handing out essay subjects for this very basic class, my classmates got “the sun”, “the moon”, “Jupiter”, etc. he gave me “quasars” and said “That should keep you occupied. For about three days.” … I had it done in less than six hours, and that included time getting to the library. Basic algebra defeats me, though.

@@mistertwister2000right 😂 plenty of geniuses come from all walks of life, several are known to be very social, party people, and kings and queens of sarcasm. So not 'tism. Not understanding your child’s genius so much that you just call him ‘challenged’ is heartbreaking. EDIT: I NEVER said she was a bad mom. She isn’t a bad mom at all. There’s a really great video called why gifted children really are special education children by Jordan Peterson and I believe he makes the reference of being born with the blue print to a mansion while everyone else if born with a blue print for a regular house and people raise you and tell you all you’re life you’re going to build a mansion someday because you were just born with the ability to do it. You’ll do everything your peers do but to be left with an unfinished mansion and everyone else has a finished house. Just because you have the blueprint to be a genius doesn’t mean the parents, school or general society will have any idea how to help that kid “build” a mansion when all they have ever built was a house.

Smartest guy I’ve ever met was autistic. His name was Tom re. I really enjoyed pairing up with him when we had projects assigned in high school, because quite frankly he was a slave to understanding anything and everything, and I learned a lot from him. Sounds like me in the sense of needing to know anything and everything at every moment, as if my life depends on it. It has made me a lot smarter than my peers. Bad thing about being smart is that it's hard to find other people who are very smart. It makes the world feel dull and lonely. We are being controlled by monkeys in suits. Information is the most valuable thing in the world, more valuable than any dollar amount, because with all the knowledge, you can have all the money you've ever wanted.
