Been watching the 2nd season and seeing Nathalie made me feel so much more connected since my bf is from Sweden and I'm from the U.S.! So sorry to her that it didn't work out as a couple, but hope she finds happiness in her future! ❤️ Awesome video Stefan! 😊

Interesting video, well done! I think it would be very nice if you do a reaction video at the movie 'A man called Otto' and also at the earlier Swedish version 'En man som heter Ove'. I cannot think at anyone else more suitible person to do such a reaction.

What you talk about at 11.50 about Swedes opening up when they go abroad, the corollary of this is that at home Swedes can be closed and difficult to connect with. One of the most unpleasant parts of my 1.5 years living in Sweden was trying to make friends and finding people superficially friendly but uninterested in deeper connection or being friends. The Swedes I did eventually make friends with are mainly non-conventional Swedes, the more typical Swedes seem content to have three friends and aren't interested in getting to know foreigners :/

I find it difficult when abroad that people act as if everyone is your friend, even if you just met. I find it fake and disturbing- a swede

@@n0namesowhatblerp362 And I can appreciate that too, I find Americans can be overly friendly and it doesn't feel like there's a good boundary there. But as I said, it says something that after 18 months of living in a country that I had virtually no Swedish friends. I met plenty of people who were friendly and said "we should have a fika sometime", but it never happened, and I was invited to the homes of exactly 2 Swedes in all that time. I'm not shitting on Swedes, I'm saying that the culture is quite closed to outsiders, it's better that this be acknowledged so people can manage their expectations.

I appreciate the suggestions that, in fact, the problem was me all along. I've been able to make a big network of friends in Finland without the same issues, and similarly where I come from in the UK. I have more than one cultural reference point to work with, my statements about Swedes being hard to get to know stand from my perspective, and that of all the other international people I became friends with who turned to each other because they couldn't make friends with Swedes either.

I studied abroad in neighboring Denmark two years ago and I can tell you from first hand experience that unless the booze is out, the friends don’t come out. That’s all.

Natalie has certainly picked up one 'Murican female affectation: The Croak! I wonder if it is contagious, because even Stefan was beginning to croak a bit near the end. My SWAG (Silly Wild-Arsed Guess) is that Natalie unconsciously drops the croak when speaking Swedish!
