If you're thinking of moving to Edmonton there are some things you will need to know.
I have lived in Edmonton my entire life and for the most part its a great city. There is lots of opportunity to make money and typically there is always something to do. Our weather is horrible and we are far away from any ocean but if you are okay with the cold you will probably enjoy Edmonton.
In this video I breakdown some pros and cons of living in Alberta's Capital City.

Its nice to see a Real Estate Agent be honest at talk about the crime. Most agents won't talk about the crime in Edmonton, or downplay it. Subscribed!

There is -40°C every winter for a couple of weeks. That's what you get when the snow is here from November to May.

Everyone wondering how homeless survive in a place so cold has never lived in northern Alberta. It is amazing how resourceful they are to stay warm.

I’m Lebanese , i applied for work permit 1.5 year ago, got approved a month ago and got my visa 2 weeks ago( for Edmonton, Alberta). My hourly wage is 16.46$ before tax. I’ve calculated my cost of living ( rent, food, transportation, etc.. ) It was acceptable back then . When i applied earlier , it was my dream to come to canada. I’ve struggled a lot to get the visa and I’ve booked a flight that was supposed to be next week , but honestly things have differ from when I’ve applied. I used to see affordable housing and cost of living, not anymore. Things have changed there, from cost to living to rents to increased crime rate ( it’s even higher and more tragical than Lebanon itself in his worst current situation) and so on and so forth. I’ve literally canceled everything and I’m not even regretting my decision. Working on a slight above minimum wage, in a weather that’s -20+ for long months just to be in ‘CANADA’ and live from paycheck to paycheck isn’t going to seduce me honestly.

Why Edmonton??? I used to live in Edmonton and have never regretted moving away from there. Why not Calgary instead? Its a very different city, and to me has much more to offer in many ways.

1) Jobs are easy to find, they do NOT pay very well. 2) Festivals, have become so overpriced and underwhelming we stopped going a few yrs before the pandemic 3) Weather- plan a winter escape every year, it helps 4) Crime, crime is legal for the homeless, rest of us suffer the consequences of no law 5) Pot Holes yea building a bike network and paying for the homeless are the only priorities of Edmonton. 6) Just dont move here, it is a great place to be if you have a $30 an hr or better paying job, just be prepared to retire else where cause there is NOTHING to do here other then pay for others

@@craig9000 Australia is as oppressive as Canada or worse, with monsters on land and in the sea, it's expensive there, too. SE Asia has language barriers, you have less rights over there, and few options to earn decent income or even own property.

If you want bad drivers go to Vietnam or Thailand.
@craig9000
@craig9000 Жыл бұрын
Vietnam doesn't have bad drivers.... it's just different rules. Like... traffic signs and lights are more suggestions. And the lines on the road are actually just decoration. But accidents are not as bad as they are in the west (cuz they can't travel very fast)
