This one is a bit different as I wasn't doing a ton of moving but that's because it was Valentines day :) I decided to vlog my self-care day! In this vlog, you get ready with me to stay at home and then we have a nice relaxing day at the apartment! I give you apartment updates that I've made, including changes to the dining room and living room :) then we get kind of more personal and talk a bit about insecurity and how social media makes that even worse sometimes!

I'm 33, living with parents and brother (mostly cos I'm newly ish disabled thanks to multi-organ failure and being in a coma for 10 days few years back!) But I was recently ditched by my ex-fiance when he ran off with one of my "good friends", who's obviously not a friend or anything anymore! I'm so perfectly fine right now being single, altho I do sometimes get that feeling of wanting to have kids and my time is running out lol! But apart from that I'm all good! Haha

Shit, I'm 29, live with mom still and I'm married for 5 years and have a 4 year old son. It's hard to justify moving out in such a shit economy and we live in a super safe town with the best schools in the area. The only murders in the last 10 years were by one cop who killed two different people (go figure). Living with mom is dope.

I’m gonna tell you something my mom always told me, you are so lucky to be naturally beautiful. Everyone is beautiful, but the way your smile lights up a room, and the way your personality fills the air with joy, that’s your natural beauty trying to break out. So don’t for one second think you look “ugly” without makeup, I happen to think you’re beautiful and all of the dolls I had as a child had your beautiful orange hair and your most adorable red cheeky face!!!

Being single and young in my own apartment where no one moves your stuff, you do whatever you want. It was so nice. I now have a hubby and a 5 year old and they are great but appreciate this time! 💕

girl i can totally relate to what you said about going through trauma- i feel so much older than i am (23) and REALLY struggle to make friends. i have a hard time relating to people my age, i feel like i have lived a thousand lives. it can feel so lonely but you are not alone❤️

My 20-year-old son is going through that same thing, well one of his male friends and one of his little -4’11’ -girl-friend who live down the street, have that same issue, they don’t always hang out ,they talk from time to time ,but he is so lonely, he had to put his 15-year-old Maltese cutie into canine heaven and since then he has come to the realization ,he knows it’s a part of moving on and forward,I just wish all the young people of the world the best ,because this Covid honestly doesn’t help w/mental health issues or just being a shy person ,so good luck T,😇

Same here but I don't feel older, I feel much younger and like I can't relate properly. I assume everyone is years older than me, then it turns out they're the same age or younger! Missed out on about 5 years of development at a crucial time because of abuse (17-22)

I feel this. I'm 18 and it is incredibly hard for me to make friends. If I do relate to people my age, they don't want to talk to me or be around me. If I don't relate to people my age and relate to people older than me, my parents - Dad in particular - will shoo me away when I try to talk. I know that he means we'll, but I don't think he understands what it has done to me mentally. I feel like I don't belong anywhere and no one wants to talk to me unless they want something from me.

Brooke I’d love videos about mental health, because you’re definitely not alone and it helps so much to see other people who go through the same thing (I bet a lot of us can relate on some level, i know i can really relate). Really bad anxiety and depression causes a lot of isolation without help, and even with help it’s really hard to push through. And it totally causes a feeling of being stunted and held back in a lot of ways but very wise about yourself and others and life in other ways. And I know what you mean about having a difficult time doing “normal” things people our own age do. But I’m loving your vlogs-so fun and relaxing! If you love your living room desk, keep it there and get another for filming 😊 I love your taste and decor! As for feeling lonely, my cats helped so much, also having some photos and gifts from friends and family, and candles and art that made me feel happy. Oh, and I took a lot of baths, too, with candles and music. Lots of love, Brooke! ❤️

I think your apartment is coming along perfectly! All of feel lonely even if we’ve been living in the same place for years. I have anxiety and depression and I do see a therapist and take medication for it. At first I was ashamed and tried to hide it from my close friends. Now I know I should have confided in family and friends a long time ago. They understand because they love me. You shouldn’t have to whisper in your own space. The only way neighbors could get irritated is if you have a massive loud party with a lot of drunk people. Keep the vlog’s coming. 😍

@@bethysbarn awww thankyou lovely. I'm doing well. I was misdiagnosed with pre leukemia and had two unnecessary bone marrow aspirations and woke up deaf from the anesthetic. My fiance and friends and even sister who is older all ran for the hills. I've had cochlear implant surgery on my left ear which gave me back some independence, it's still difficult hearing on phones, iPad's, watching tv etc but I have learnt to absolutely love the silence at times but it can get frustrating having to deal with people yelling at me because they see I have a cochlear implant or speaking really slowly 😂😂😂. You have to laugh. I just get on with life. Much love from Australia xxx 💕💕💕💕

@@breephoenix111 praying that people will learn to accept you with your disability. I am completely blind and if people can't accept that they don't need to be my friend. The fact that friends, a sister, and even a fiance would run away because of a disability shows they don't truly love you.

Everything you had said about social anxiety & maturing fast due to trauma...I was like YES YES YES. I’ve never related so hard. I’ve always such hard time fitting in with my friends and peers my age & I came to terms with that in my early 20s. Now in my mid 20s I’m trying to try out the things I never got to try at that age!

Girlllll! My family just moved & my cat had the worst time. She meowed through the night for awhile. I want to say it took a good 4-5 weeks for her to fully quit. She still doesn’t like to be alone in a room & has become very needy. We got her a calming collar, gave her cat nip, extra treats & extra pets. You can get calming collars at any pet store I believe. They really work! Hope you’re enjoying the new place! It looks wonderful!

Thank you for really opening up in this video. I am also struggling from past trauma and it seems to just be getting worse, as I continue to try to suppress it. Listening to you talk about how you’ve been feeling, so freely, is inspiring me to try to open up to my boyfriend about the things that I’ve been going through. It can be lonely, even when you’re surrounded by people, so having someone so genuine (🤪) like you to watch is really helping me. Thank you! :-)

Hi Brooke, I relate a lot to what you were taking about when you were doing your make up in the bathroom. It feels comforting to hear someone having the same personal experiences and life situation as yourself, despite the unfortunate and sad fact that you have had things happen in your life to make you feel that way. You are absolutely beautiful with or without makeup. I have hyper vigilance too. When I lived alone initially I was very nervous at the thought, but I ended up loving it. Freedom to do what you want, when you want. Everything's looking great in your home so far.

I really get the 'turning anxiousness into excitement'. I recently went on Vision Australia Radio to talk about vision loss, as part of Retinitis Pigmentosa awareness month, and it was so daunting! I'm the absolute worst at public speaking. Before we started chatting, I tried to frame it in a positive way - this is a topic I know a lot about because I've been living with it and it's really amazing that the host reached out to me. Always listen to your other true crime channel and love your empathy and compassion, but only just realised you even had a smaller second channel. Just watching a couple of videos over hear it now completely makes sense why I connected with your personality so strongly and not just because I like listening to true crime. I too moved out aged 24 and have always struggled hugely with social anxiety, depression and poor self confidence, and here on this channel your warm beautiful soul shines through

I'm coming with you on your journey. I too have trauma in my past, no friends because of it, always outside looking in. I'm married, have three kids and I'm 40, but I still feel 22 alone and unable to cope. And now I'm trying to see my teen through her depression and anxiety and I can't even deal with mine. Me and my BFF have always celebrated Galentines day.. It started when both of our boyfriends broke up with us right before Vday. She had a baby at 20 so we celebrated every year at Chuck E. Cheese! We exchanged gifts and this yr will be 20 yrs and her son still celebrates with us but now we go to a fun Asian area to enjoy wonderful food and shop. Her now husband was sweet and encouraged us to continue our traditions. They do date night the next wknd. It makes it so nice!

Hi Brooke, I’m up for the journey in whatever you feel comfortable sharing with us. I’m a lot older than you (61) & have gone through some challenges. I also struggle with social anxiety. I’ve definitely gotten better, it comes & goes. Lol. I have passed it down to my 2 youngest, my daughter 30 & my son 27. We can all grow together & maybe give each other tips or tricks that help us overcome these insecurities. My daughter watches you too. Everything looks gorgeous. You have very good decorating tastes. I’m happy to see Katniss is adjusting!!

Also, I think it's a great idea to document the process of going into new chapters of your life. It can also help you see things you are doing well or where you could improve. You are going to constantly evolve and I really wish you well along the way. Keep at it and take charge of your future! I know you are going to continue to blossom in this new stage of your life!

I have PTSD and it has been hard but if I give in to it. Hide away not go out meet people my abusers win. They stole so much from me and cause so many problems. They are not going to rule over everything I will fight to win back as much confidence as I possibly can. New to this your second channel and lovely to start really getting to know you.

Command velcro straps! I used them for a heavy mirror. 2 straips on each side. One up and one down.....worked great

I would love to see a video about you talking about your phobia with noise because I am the exact same way like I have always been afraid of noise and scared of noise ever since I was a baby and I live alone in an apartment and every sound I hear literally sends me into anxiety so I completely understand where you’re coming from and I would love to see you make a video on like your experiences and like if you have any tips or anything
