I work on a military navy ship where theres no internet. I just put my steam deck in airplane mode. I was off the grid for 6 months with my steam deck

Aw man! Published the day I got back from my trip! Great tips. Fortunately I did not have an issue, despite not using Offline Mode. Loaded up a ton of NextFest Demos and had 2 great flights and some chill nights.

I'm normally offline. I just turned off the wifi. I'll do the offline mode and see how much better it is. Thanks for the tip.

Also for denuvo. Denuvo only needs to "ring home" every 14 or 30 days (since activation). Example being, if you activated denuvo today, it will "ring home" the 21st next month (it's the 22nd where I live). You can cheat the system by backing up your game, uninstall it, then reinstall it with your back up just before going off the grid so that it tricked the system into "ringing home" and restarting the 30 day timer if that helps.

I just keep my profile on the steam deck invisible and never turn offline mode on so it counts my hours, and I've never had any issues at all.

Hey, can you show some of us how to transfer file saves from our desktop pc's to the Steam Deck? Dark Souls 3 doesn't support cloud saves and I'd love to know how to transfer my data. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff, so thanks lol.

I would really like to play emulators in offline mode, but I can't find instructions anywhere where I can find the keys, etc. It's something that is quite sensitive on KZfaq, so I understand that I won't find it here. But when I find something on the Internet, I don't know if it will work because it is only described and I personally need to see a video to proceed step by step. Of course, only emulate games that I own. But even so, some games that can theoretically be played offline do not work for a mysterious reason. An example is Killing Floor 2 in offline mode.

Whenever I am offline, I never play anything on my Steam library with achievements and just stick to emulation.

Denuovo performs random checks and if you cant connect to wifi for some reason then the game will not launch! Games like Sonic Frontiers get affected by this. Generations thankfully doesnt have it and havent had an issue with that game offline. However its bad and makes the performance worse then it is. For games where the performance wasnt good to begin with Denuovo can hinder that even more. I dont buy any games that utilize it. When you buy a game you should be able to play it offline. Not have errors and shit cause of some stupid anti tamper the game company decided to add.

Found out about Denovo when I was trying to play persona 4 Golden at a trip. Denovo is absolutely terrible. Also didn't know that different proton version count as different computers. May have to find out which proton Ge I have for a game

There's Denuvo Steam curator list to check in order to make informed purchasing choices. Fortunately, most of the games on the list I would consider buying are just console ports.

Windows actually doesn't help with anything in this case. It's the same experience. Some games work, others have Denuvo.

If you have a game with Denuvo start it up 4-5 times while online and you can then play it offline for a few days to a week at least

@@HiTechLoLife oh it works most my games are cracked or are Emulators but on steam OS it doesn't matter if it and emulator the app will not open if it's connected to the internet and I found that strange

@@itzdcx7991on SteamOS you can install cracked games with lutris, bottles or steam even (as non-steam game). I also have emulators and they all work offline I'm absolutely sure. I made a video recently showing some games. Most of them work offline except for games with denuvo. Gaming offline is a challenge of patience. Its simpler on windows 100% but i find it way more enjoyable to have it work on SteamOS

I’ve actually started preferring my Switch for offline gaming because too many games I want to play require an online connection, even some single player games. Same goes for game purchases, if I see there’s DRM I just opt for the Switch version if I can.
