This guy is a joke he's wasting money everywhere and wanting to gut services and credits in industries that need them. This won't LOWER prices at all. And even if he could get rid of that carbon tax think about what it really saves you. In terms of fuel it lowers the price at the pump by 5.3 cents in Ontario which may be $100-200/yr depending on how much you drive. With so many people able to work from home they saved a ton on gas which meant even higher rebate to cost ratio. For natural gas and hydro it increased the cost by 11% which lets assume was all passed onto the consumer instead of the companies. This means that perhaps you do pay some amount more for the power/heating which I estimate at $330/yr based on my home expenses but it could be more. Total cost of $530 (high end estimate). Now for what you get back. its between $488 to $976 from single to family of 4. That's assuming a single family unit and grouped tax payers living in the household. If you have multi-generational homes which are way more common now that amount could go up to $1708 which would represent parents and 2 children over 18 filing their own taxes. The only way this doesn't give money back to you is if a single person uses the power/heating costs of a family of 4. Also, besides the removal off the pump price when have you ever seen a business lower prices permanently? They will keep these tax generated costs as profits once the tax is removed.

This income tax deduction done back in his first term has been completely overshadowed with all the other tax increases since 2015/16. Just another brilliant move by the Trudeau government that doesn't know anything about monetary policy. Also continuous massive overspending, which has resulted in inflation!
