Ray Shoesmith ‘takes care of people’ - collecting debts, relieving them of drugs and guns, and often taking care of them on a more permanent basis. Ray demands respect and does not tolerate others disregarding his very clear code of ethics. As Ray’s increasingly volatile work collides with his imploding personal life, he finds himself struggling to stay atop the complex web he has woven.

I love the relationship between these two and how it developed over 3 seasons. This episode was a kick in the gut.

It was never personal, Ray knew it was just business and when Ray could've killed him and didn't, he became an ally Sad what happened to him tho 😢

Dave ( Matt Nable) brought so much to this show. and Nicholas Cassim should have got an award for his role of Bruce.

I didn't know Cassim was a healthy guy until I saw him interviewed, after I'd finished the show. He's a great actor.

Dave could just have been a one episode throw away, but the directors saw the chemistry he and Ray had. I love how they became mates, and how with Gazza they are the triple threat.

@@Amero2323agree was a fantastic take. The only other person I saw play a role in similar fashion was Daniel Day Lewis in Christy Brown, although he had CP.

You know you can fix that. Start using it wherever you are. Good, concise, descriptive words have a habit of catching on, and root is one of the best...

Not really, the way people talk in Tarantino films is ridiculius. The characters talk like normal people in Mr Inbetween

@@tomgardner2253 You're talking about all his films after Kill Bill and I'd agree, but Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs in particular had a down to earth realism about their characters and dialogue that this show is very similar to. I don't know much about Ryan Scott, but I'd be willing to bet that at the very least Pulp Fiction was an influence on his writing style.

I ve known these types of guys in my life and they are so well depicted... hard men, lived rough lives and love to philosophise over stuff like aliens, conspiracy theories etc haha they mainly do it to escape/distract from their hard lives, but it's endearing to some extent.

Great show, well written, terrific actors. Mr Inbetween is proof that you don't need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to create excellent entertainment.

i love how they talk about a random topic that sometimes it became a debate. like ray and gaz talking about who's the best bond, best batman, and gaz's superman joke. overseas viewer here, so i don't know. maybe it's an aussie thing. no hate, i love the show. and i wish many people would watch this show.

Hey mate, this is exactly what Aussie life is like minus the hits and most of the fights. The dialogue is spot on and the day to day life is a slice of Australian life.

okay Aussies, help me out, are they actually saying "root" a woman, because I really can't trust the subtitles and they could literally be saying almost any one syllable word and I can't tell the difference.
