So true. Everyone must submit to Rome and confess that Jesus Christ is King.

People are going to look back at the time when blacks guilt tripped whites into thinking Black people couldn't be racist. As a Latino, I see you what you're doing, and thank heavens it seems people waking up to it. Enjoy it while it lasts.

It’s sad that the show is over. But It’s better it ends perfectly like this instead of forcing a second season. And even if there was a second book by Clavell, most of the characters that made me love this show are gone already…
@BuruIgeru16 сағат бұрын
There is a distant sequel by Clavell called "Gaijin" which talks about the leadup to the Meiji Restoration and essentially features descendants of Toranaga. There's an opportunity there if they'll have it

I was 20 when the Shogun miniseries came out and at the time everyone liked it, but this series blows it out of the water! It’s a work of art and I love how the women’s roles are very well written and acted. All due to Hiroyuki’s involvement as a Producer. I hope Hollywood lets him do much more. I loved him in Westworld too.

@omaridaniels842718 сағат бұрын
It was great to get Charles in Season 3 and for David to finally meet his dad. Would it have been cool if it was McAvoy or Stewart, especially since Stewart wanted to do it? Sure, but at the same time, Harry Lloyd made the role his own and added his own imprint to playing Charles.

4:39 This line of Mariko is a quote from the farewell poem of Hosokawa Gracia, who is said to be the model for Mariko. This old farewell poem, which is more than 400 years old, is still loved by many Japan people living in the present day. This farewell poem beautifully explains why Japan people have loved the fall of cherry blossoms since ancient times. I would like to write down here the farewell poem that Hosokawa Gracia left in this world.

I'm not sure how or why I had NEVER heard of this series when it originally ran, or how I accidentally discovered it without any tips from other people. However, I'm glad about that now as I was able to binge watch the entire series in a matter of a few weeks with only the occasional need to, oh I don't know, sleep? work a bit? talk to my family here and there... I seriously could not stop watching! I had a few rough days of work from sleep deprivation as I would watch till 4am sometimes! First I love historical fiction so this was right up my alley! From the minute Phillip and Stan became neighbors, I was all in. Their friendship seemed so genuine that it was easy to forget what a horrific lie that Phillip was living. Such a compelling story. And I could identify with the daughter Paige as she was about the same age as I was at that time in the 80's. I loved the opening scene with the chase to capture that Russian agent and Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" playing in the background, which happens to be right around the exact time that I remember that song being popular. And the series finale.... wow! So emotional. I had no idea who to be routing for at the end. The scene with Stan confronting the Jennings family in the parking garage was epic! I watched it many times over. My heart broke each time! And what better song to capture the mood of the following scenes than Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms", a song that I had almost forgotten about over the decades. By the way, I am not someone who takes a lot of time to write reviews, so I'm not sure why I felt the need to go on and on about this series, but I hope it convinces someone else like me to watch it! Oh, and Kerri Russell.... wow! Killer body and she certainly knows how to use it!
