I'm lvl 126, and thanks to this, I've defeated Mohg before he goes to Phase 2. Mimic Tear Ash helped a lot for those free hits after using shackle.

Omg first time in less than 2 minutes. Huge help on the tips. Tweaked it with Marikas hammer, axe talisman, pearldrake talisman +1, bull goats talisman and shard of Alexander. The great rune was overkill obviously now. But thanks so much for the tips!!!

Thanks for the video. I finally beat him today! Latenna +10 is a great help. I summoned her right after entering the arena and used Golden Vow to increase both our attack and defense. To distract Mohg from attacking her and focusing on me instead I equipped Shabriri's Woe Talisman. Swarm of Flies incantation drains his health very fast during phase 1 and with Flock's Canvas Talisman it's even a little stronger. While he's busy removing his shackles or changing into phase 2 attack him with a blood loss weapon. I used the Reduvia dagger here and also the Purifying Crystal Tear to get rid of the curse. I am level 145.

there's not a single boss in this game that infuriates me more than mohg. elden beast, maliketh, melania. i can beat those near hitless now but every time i fight mohg i die, over and over and over. on my current run about 800 hours into the game with ruins greatsword +10 i have now died 21 times without even getting him down to 25% the blood curse is fine but when he starts covering the entire arena in fire and constantly pumping out those damn explosion attacks i just die.

Step 1: Make a Faith/Strength Build Step 2: Acquire the Blasphemous Blade Step 3: Get Luthel the Headless Step 4: Pump up both of those to max level Step 5: Let Luthel tank the boss, while you spam the Blade's Ash of War until the Boss dies Fun fact: This works for every boss, not just Mohg. xD

I didn't have poison but a max mimic tanking all the damage as I use rot breath really did the trick

I'll try combining these methods tomorrow minus the summon. I almost got him but i was getting a little flustered so it was time to break. I forgot about the blood resistance tear tbh. I shall go and resupply and give it another shot. This is my no summon playthrough and that second phase fire mess is hard to avoid or even see a safe spot to get to. I think i can do it. The scarlet rot wasn't quite cutting it on its own and i was to lazy to grab more poison arrows. Good guide yet again.

OMG! I did it with just 1 run using some of ur steps. Yes with only 1 run after using ur steps and defeated mohg straight away (before that, I died like 50 times) . I did not use ur build and did not use all the bow and arrows, afflictions stuff. I only used the important and easy obtainable stuff like shackles, flask, food buff. However i used the mimic summon which summon my copy to fight the boss. The shackles is the key, this ensure that my mimic stay alive and continue till mohg 2nd phase (without shackles, my mimic always got killed before the 2nd phase). And at mogh 2nd phase, he always get distracted by my mimic 100% of the time which i went in for easy kill. Thank you!

Best guide to beating this boss!!

MAN I WISH I KNEW ABOUT THAT BLOOD GREASE!!!!

Mimic tear + shabriri's woe while wielding the Fallingstar Beast Jaw upgraded to level 7 or better and mohg's shackle and if you choose you can throw in Lord of Bloods Exultation though with this particular strat the Exultation talisman doesn't really make much difference, the Carian Filigreed Crest is a much better choice for my strat. I was able to kill him in under 2mins without needing to waste time applying buffs. Summon mimic tear and then unequip shabriri's woe replacing it with the Carrian Filigreed Crest as soon as you pass through the fog wall then use the shackle spam the Fallingstar Beast Jaw's Gravity Bolt ability using flask of cerulean tears to recover FP(for best effect only recover FP when your FP is to low to continue spamming gravity bolt) shackling mohg a second time and use your flask of physick with Purifying Crystal Tear and Opaline Hardtear before entering phase 2 to negate the massive damage of mohg's curse when transitioning to phase 2. Throughout the phase transition keep spamming gravity bolt and replenishing FP when depleted. Rinse and repeat until he dies. Gravity Bolt does a lot of poise damage and will break his stance several times throughout the encounter preventing Mohg from attacking almost entirely. Also, sorcery users if you are struggling with this boss try burning him down with gravity magic instead of using spells that cause bleed damage. Mohg is weak to both bleed and gravity magic and has fairly low poise additionally when Mohg is hit with a full bleed counter he receives a buff to his attack power. By using gravity magic you can avoid the buff to Mohg's attacks while taking advantage of his low poise and breaking his stance several times during the fight preventing a great deal of his attacks. If you see my comment and try my strat please come back to leave a reply and let me know how it worked out. Would also love to hear back from any sorcery builds with some feedback letting me know if my tip to use gravity magic worked for you or not. This is the first strat I have shared and I would really enjoy the feedback especially if it helped you reach your first win against this boss, or if it's not your first run would still love to know how my strat or tips affected your experience/time against this boss. Some will hate but i love it. You are using multiple tools to defeat a boss. I love beating the game at a low level and utilizing poison, frost, bleed etc

I love how you approach this battle. You fight exactly like I do. I've got a strength faith-filled and I'm in my first playthrough but I always have a longbow that's plus 17 right now and I usually carry some sort of greatsword right now I'm supporting a blast on his blade but sometimes I'll switch to the nights greatsword with sword dance and various greases that I can apply to it. And I will do as much damage as I can with my bow before I have to go in with my sword and shield or my sword and some sort of incantation. But if I can run away and do damage from a distance why not? That's not a cheese and it's not the easy way. It's just tactics. Not everybody wants to go in here and prove that they can fight a boss with no damage but naked. Some of us are just role-playing and enjoying the adventure.

I used the scarlet rot with the dragon communion seal to start, and then just kept spamming the ability of the blasphemous blade+7 made for a pretty easy fight

The shackle doesn't work for me. Sometimes I can get it to hit once but other times it just does the animation and nothing happens. I'm assuming maybe it has a cooldown? If it does, it doesn't display this anywhere.

Using melee I found the first phase super easy once I learned the attack patterns. I found the second phase so much harder

i found the blaszphemous balde is really good for this fight considering he does so much damage and the sword heals you every hit you get on him

Thank you for the tips... it took so many tries but I did it... bloodhounds fang and mimic tear and a lot of luck later, I've beaten this a**hole...

I haven't test this, but I think Reduvia, Rivers of Blood, or Eleonora's Poleblade could quickly get Mohg's bleed bar up (especially Reduvia, since its skill, when used up close, can give a one-swing-bleed) For bow, I think a light bow could do the trick, especially when you're using the Serpent Arrows (and you're focusing on giving Mohg poison quickly) For summon, I recommend Mimic Tear, since it's basically another version of you, fighting the boss with you (if the mimic tear is holding reduvia or rivers of blood, bleed build up would be massive, trust) Hope it helps, I haven't test it though, so please give some feedbacks so I can fight Mohg too.

Man if you have a high level mimic tear and both using bloodhound fang +10 with blood flame the fight will end quick, but I’m doing a no summons run now and didnt want to use BHF again and this guy one on one without bleed weapon is a tough mf but I was able to get him with dragon halberd

I'm a mage build so I just used comet azure it didn't one shot I'm so once I got done spamming flasks after he did the blood curse me and my mimic tear just spammed dark comet till he died.

i can't use the tear because it completely ruins my damage, my first try i got him to 25% health, my next try with the tear i got hm to 75% health, the tear i use is too good to replace or else it ruins my damage

Interesting video. Lots and lots of different stuff i have to say...With that said - if you don´t want to kill him in this way you can just go in with a blood hounds fang and the shackles, killing him off in 30 seconds. Just saying.

If you’re still doing this and you can’t seem to keep your follower alive, use the mimic teir.

I skipped his second phase by dealing raw disgusting physical damage to him before he could even do his 3 blood attacks 👌 Also the speckled hardtear doesn't seem to work anymore to negate those 3 attacks. I took full damage with the phys pot going.

You can recover stamina by sneaking too it recovers faster

This is the only boss in the game I have beaten on the first try so I'm wondering if they nerfed him? Comet Azul while my Mimic harassed him made him a joke. I didn't even have to move. I know Comet Azul is cheese #1 but the reality is, I suck at this game.. I'll beat them however I can :D

Listen you don’t have to do all that get the stuff for the flask that he showed the,flesh,mimic tear 5 plus or up and boom you got it but I’m a level 100 if you don’t have the resources to do what he did then this is the best way

If you're here in 2024 because for some reason or other you need to kill Mohg to play the DLC and still doesn't have the Purifying Cristal Tear on whichever character you want to use on the DLC, here's how I soloed Elenora for it, without the monk npc quest: First you gotta get a bow and a bunch of rot and poison arrows (if you got Rotten Breath you can use it to finish her, but it's safer to chip at her HP with arrows) and then get to the 2nd Church of Marika in the Altus Plateau. Once you get there, kill the 2 stupid dogs so you can enter the church from the left side of the entrance. In that side there's a broken wall. Get up on it and jump to the broken pillar inside the church nearest to you. By this time, she'll have already spawned. Poison and rot her with your arrows; it's easier to hit her when she stops to use her dragon breath at you, with the bonus of breaking her casting and driving her away from you beyond her breath distance, while your arrows can still hit her. She will drink a flask and regain her HP once; don't worry about that, she'll only do it the once, not repeatedly. Keep shooting her, she'll die, you'll get her weapon and her crystal without any issue.

2 tips. Don't use the shackle for potions and don't wait to drink your physic, just drink it when you enter the arena

This bs hiding exp behind optional boss happy i found out did not waste cash . Cant cheese him just got to him and game patched yesterday they fixed that. So happy they lost another 70$ can as they did with every friend i know passed on it also.

You don’t need all of this crap. Just take the mimic tear and the kristaltear for bloodloss and your good.

This guy is somehow at once the easiest endgamd boss and also one of the most annoying. If you can nail his rhythm then i can definitely see him not even touching you. But he also has some odd delays at times and jist the right amount of range to clip you anyhow.
