The reason Mr Ballen has 8m subs is because of his genius in TELLING stories, as if he’s sitting in your living room, telling you personally. More often now he’s reading other people’s scripts and I miss when he tells stories like this.

Using flashlights in the forest at nights means you are seen first. It's best to allow your eyes to adjust and use your ears or use night vision.

He’s awesome. I met him and his family at the airport in Austin last year. Just want over very quick, shook his hand and said I loved his videos. Didn’t want to bother him further when he was about to head on a trip with his family, but he asked me a couple questions and was super nice.

I am always suspicious about those stories. I have heard so many "I know someone who almost went on a date with Ted Bundy" stories. I think it is just one of those natural urban legends people are prone to inventing.

Nah, this is a very rare case. I actually feel far safer in the woods than in any city. Animals are very predictable, humans… not so much. Again, this case John is telling about isn’t the usual.

@@SassaFrass28 That is definitely not true at all. While animals and accidents might be a danger in remote areas, you are let likely to have trouble with any humans there than anywhere else. And that is not just because there are less humans to cause trouble but because the humans out there are much less likely to be the kind of person to cause trouble. The kind of people who attack random people are disturbed individuals who would not have the resources and intellect to be able to survive in those remote areas.
