As much as Iove watching Roberto Carlos' stunning free kicks, so many of Juninho's free kicks were insane. He could curl them in, hammer them in, and the way he'd hit them with no spin to create that erratic knuckle ball effect was incredible. 77 free kick goals in his career; amazing.

That Bastos goal at the end was the best of the vid! Keep in mind...the BEST conversion rates for free kick goals is under 20% of the time. The best players in the world (Messi, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic) have a success rate of under 8%. That means they're hitting the net only 1 out of 10-11 times. As of Feb 2022, Juninho has scored the most free kicks (74) since they started keeping stats. And if I had to choose one player to take a free kick, it would be Beckham (his critical goal vs. Greece, with all that pressure, was classic!), or Roberto Carlos. Even when Carlos misses, its still a wonder seeing the ball travel at the speed of sound! 🤪
