The kids go something liks trik or treat in America to sing carols & make noise from home to home & they receive nuts, apples & brezells before the Christmas day etc. Actually Christmas in villages last not only one day , they last untill 18 December starting with the pig choping & end in 26/ 27 December. Every day you have diferent traditions so you have to really stay here for the whole month of December in a village to experience real traditions❤

Oh wow, I love a dash of rum in things. On the island I was born we make sugar cane rum. Our moonshine is called Mountain Dew.

We cure colds in the winter drinking Boiled wine with cinnamon & slices off apple , yes Hot & also if you want to be better when you are cold drink Boiled Țuica with pepper & sugar , hot like that & your cold will say :" Bye bye 😂😂❤❤❤ lot' s off garlick raw & onion raw with some fat meat & bread and every winter you will be stronger😂😂❤

Christmas to us does not mean necesarry Ginger Bread but cabage rolls, Bouef Salad, Tripe Soup, cozonac, meat from the pig you raised in your home & come together the all family to help making food & preaper the big for the food for Chrustmas / Winter , drink țuica & wine made in home, sausages made in the home from the big by 0, etc etc. There is a video on you tube on how they prepare the pig and make from him food in a small village, this is kind modern & made more in big Citys , not villages.

That boiled wine is delicious .. I buy it every winter, and sometimes I make it myself at home.. it's really easy to make, just boil some wine (but keep it before boiling point, like around 75-80 degrees Celsius so that the alcohol doesn't evaporate) together with cinnamon (the main spice) and sugar. If you want it like in Romania (and Europe I suppose) you can add cloves, pepper, apples, oranges, we even have small packets of spices for wine in the stores. But even simple with just cinnamon and sugar it's really good :)

The best traditions in Romania are in the village, in Maramureș for example they still keep old traditions alive❤. And yes not only in Maramures but in villages in general. If you want to experiance real tradition go in someone home in a village ❤❤❤ & also when they chop the big before Christmas❤

The conclusion is NOT romanian Christmas but more so modern the real traditions are in villages from Romania not Big City like this one❤
