The way you totally open up and get back in the mini before dropping in is super helpful.

@@GrawrD just had a few successful attempts today on some thick coping. It does seem like I only manage to get my 52mm wheels out if I do the smallest hop. In your experience is that just how it is with smaller wheels and big coping? Or should I be able to get out without the hop? I think when I don’t hop the center of the truck slashes the coping a little too much and I hang up
@GrawrD

@@awitzk Sick, dude! It’s probably the chunky coping more than the small wheels. It’s harder to get your toe side wheel to pivot up when your heel side wheel isn’t touching the ramp. I do a little hop more often than not too, just because it’s become second nature. Just have to be careful not to hop your heel wheel on the deck and hang up. Getting comfortable with the hop also helps a lot with roll ins so it’s a good habit to have!

Going for it is the first step! This trick is super scary at first just dig your pressure into that back heel and you’ll clear the coping.

Dude, this trick seems so much scarier than backside. I've pretty much got backside down, but never tried frontside. Thank you for the tips, definitely going to try to work up the courage to conquer this trick.

I can relate! I was terrified of this trick for a long time but if you can convince yourself to try coming in once, it gets a lot less scary. Once you feel comfortable opening up those shoulders in the stall, you can see the ramp a little better which helps too. If you got BS down, you'll get it in no time. Let me know how it goes!

this last session, i spent over 30 minutes total stuck in the stall, unable to commit to dropping back in. trying to talk myself through it, trying to count myself down from 3, 2, 1. Wasn't able to get myself to do it. Making progress though, and this video is very helpful.
@GrawrD

The first one is definitely terrifying. What I like to do is try a trick that sets this one up right before it to kind of “trick” my brain into using a little muscle memory. For this trick, I would do a FS kickturn right before trying to come back in from this, that way my body is comfortable with the full rotation. Once you commit once, some of that fear will go away!

Dude thanks a mil for the vids. Love your vibe. I'm battling this trick right now. I can come back in no problem. But getting up there, my board keeps flying out and I fall back into the ramp. Any tips for swinging your weight up out of the ramp and getting on top of it?
@GrawrD
@GrawrD 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, man. Appreciate it! You have the opposite problem of most people! Two things: First, practice riding out of the ramp onto the deck just turning a little bit frontside. Don't worry about getting on the coping, just focus on staying on the board, getting all four wheels on the deck and turning frontside. Keep doing this over and over and turn a little bit more each time. When you try to lock onto the coping, you'll find it a lot easier to shift your weight up top. Second, really focus on your shoulders. I've noticed a lot of times when people are slipping out they aren't turning their shoulders enough so their weight distribution is all off. You can come in so you have a lot of control, just really make sure those shoulders are parallel with the coping when you come up! Send me a video when you get it! Would love to feature you at the end of one of the videos...
