Well this is the start of me really trying to Keep it simple, I have been happy with the wrist hinge of Joe Dante, but I wanted to get back to the days of old when I just as John Daly said I just gripped it and ripped it, so here we go with the easiest swing in golf ,in the quest for better golf or bust. Enjoy the video and theres more to come,

Hi Andrew. Really excellent video and you opened an important dialogue of which is best to focus on the downswing; the hands or the arms. As for me I personally choose the hands; but am loving to further see your grip and how you start your arms on the downswing. Thank you and what a wonderful idea you have. To help people get away from over the 500 parasitic PGA swing tips that have been less then helpful to our games of golf over the years . Cheers

thomas, one more thing, what helps me sometimes is to watch a good golfer swing with the sound off and just take it in what i'm seeing. recently i've been watching sam snead, i'm sure he never thought about well if i turn this and do this and that. his swing looked more instinctive.

Love this thx. More than anything I think it's the release of tension that this swing gives me. I had so much tension trying to control every part of my body in the swing I didn't enjoy hitting the ball. It was actually a relief once it was over! This method feels so good. Yes I still hit bad shots sometimes, but now I feel I've released the clubhead and created more speed. Exhilarating !!!

Hey grog, I played yesterday and I swear I was so surprised by how different the whole game is when I just took it back and let the gravity of the club swing through. That must be what centrifugal forces. I’m very excited to play this way I think I need to warm up a few more days maybe a week before I go out again I’d like to play by myself and just tinker but I was hitting really Chris for irons and all my pit shots were really good and then of course I started thinking and I didn’t want to test adding pressure but when you add pressure exert leverage it’s just feel so awful and it doesn’t even go as far it’s quite amazing

Thanks for the reply. I've loved ejs stuff for a long time. I like the way you combine with mdlt. I also like Jimmy ballard. I attended a pga coaching summit in 2000 here in Australia. He said the left shoulder moves level and the right shoulder moves up. If I do that it makes room for the swing of the club. After the initial left shoulder move and the whole club moves backward then it needs to go up. Then the whole club moves up. I imagine picking up a bucket of water when the club has to go up. That engages the right shoulder upward move and the arms swing up and fold. Then the Joe Dante right wrist move acts as a sort of brake at the top of the backswing and then from there manuel swings the arms down and through to the top of the fi ish. Love your videos. Thanks Douv

Hi Andrew though my research I now know the club head uses centripetal force as it travel in it's circular path on our backswing and then shifts direction of the centripetal force on the down swing; I have come to my final conclusion. In order to do this we must use our opposing hands exactly at the same time as the best golfers do in the world. Simply put to start the backswing we must push the club head back with our lead hand using apparent centrifugal force. At the same time then the club head pulls our trail hand back by centripetal force. At the top of the swing we then need to change direction of our club head so as we now need to pull the club head harder down with our lead hand ( centripetal force) and at the same time our trail hand must push harder using apparent centrifugal power in order to overcome the pulling down motion of centripetal force created by our lead hand. You are 100 percent correct our hands tells the rest of our body what to do. If any one doubts this infallible truth in a golf swing the next time you need to push a car with your hands have you ever directed the rest of your body what to do? I love my infallible swing and like you I wish to present it freely for the world to understand and for people to teach themselves the feeling of infallible swing for themselves. You my friend are a true gentleman and a scholar of the game. And I see you as being one of the best golf coaches in the world someday; because word will get out how quickly you showed your students the infallible swing. Cheers

Similar to the Ernest Jones and Manuel de la Torre technique, I found once that you have established a proper stance, lift your chin slightly up and back, waggle the club head (Hogan). Then as Sam Snead recommended, RHYTHMICALLY; slight bump forward (trigger), front shoulder under chin and then back shoulder under chin. REMEMBER RHYTHMICALLY.

Wade, I have use the swing before can you please share if you don’t mind what is been? Your experience in Letting The club do the work with the longer clubs do you just try to keep the same swing momentum with the longer clubs as you do with the short clubs in not adding anything to the Swing?
@wadepatton2433
@wadepatton2433 Жыл бұрын
@@adudetalkingaboutfilm8077 The longer clubs produce higher clubhead speeds by geometry not by extra force from the golfer. Adding extra force is usually pushes a swing that's out of shape and unsatisfactory. When you need more distance you need more club or more speed. Adding length to the swing allows for the acceleration zone to be longer and thus produce a faster clubhead through the ball. I've found two things key to my swing being repeatable and dependable, first is not rushing through the top, second is never applying any more pressure to the club after it gets back to address position or 6 o'clock. Henry Cotton's hitting a tire exercise is GREAT for finding the right point to let the centrifugal forces of the club and arms pull your body though to the finish. Sure it's not how the latest tour pros do it, but then they've got all day every day to work on their swings. I find Manuel's approach far easier than my old ways to "stay up to speed" and do it with less work. It also means that I'm no longer a digger, but a sweeper. I can hit a clean high, stop and run back shot into the green without ripping a divot. I've come to appreciate doing less damage to the course and practice areas while still hitting good shots. Sorry I rambled. I'm in ramble mode.

@@adudetalkingaboutfilm8077 There's no prohibition on moving anything in the "EJ" swing. It's just that it will happen naturally as we focus on swinging the club through the ball. It's just that we don't have to or need to focus on those things. Focusing on anything but hitting the shot to the target, along the intended line, our setup and alignment, is all we really need to do. Change is rarely easy, but change for improvement is always a good endeavor. I could probably hit fine shots my "old way" but I don't see how I'd prefer them over hitting good shots the new way and I'm not about to confuse my hands and feet and shoulders now. Enjoy your game.

Exactly! It's like the way you throw a ball over a fence. You don't think about how far your arm goes back or what plane it is in. You just toss it over the fence. Once you get the same attitude and your mind is in that mode as you swing, the ball will go where you want it to just as easily as that toss over the fence. Everyone can toss the ball but they spend thousands of dollars and hours to learn the same thing with a golf ball. Crazy.

Hi Jr:- I find your comments very interesting. I am 65 and have been playing a limited amount of golf most years since the age of 12. I was down to a 13 handicap in my early 20's and then failed to make any additional progress In my early 30's I attended the George Knudson Golf School. My game then completely fell apart and I went from a mid 80's shooter to a 120 scorer. Mr. Knudson's philosophy of the head has no part in the swing was deadly for me as I started to move my head a lot during the swing. I like the simplicity of the Earnest Jones Swing and have tried it for a couple of months at the beginning of 3 different golf seasons. I find however that I cannot increase my average of good shots above 1 in 10 (10%). I have also tried incorporating the Manual de la Torre modifications at times without success. Any comments about your experience would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi JR:- Thank you for your explanation. Your approach with the 8 iron sounds like what Arnie Frankel talks about. I tried this method as well but I found that I was hitting a lot of fat shots and was generally inconsistent. This was probably due to allowing my head to move too much from my George Knudson days. I am surprised that you continued to play golf when you were scoring 105. I took some lessons last year to get back to the traditional swing method (didn't work) and my 64 year old instructor told me that he would quit the game once she started shooting in the 80's! Incidentally, he also pointed out that I had lost most of my shoulder turn! By concentrating on feeling the clubhead I was swinging almost exclusively with my hands and arms. Thanks once again for your comments and I will try to give it another go (probably in the Spring as the golf season is starting to wind down in the Toronto area).

The best analogy I can give you Travis, is when you throw a ball you are never concerned with your shoulder turn, but if you want to throw a distance and fast you naturally make a full shoulder turn. I've always said.... let the technique reveal itself to you. Meaning the clubhead has to do what it has to do so do it and then see how you did it and that's your technique. Not jamming in certain styles of swinging or hit certain points like checking boxes..... now it does help if you are athletically minded as it will be a natural process vs not into sports and so need help

Excellent and I am looking forward to seeing how specific you will be Remember be literal. Another words on the use of the hands; show exactly how they must cooperate with each other during the entire golf swing. Also will you cover for your audience how to check their personal grip? Recommending books is fine; but I know a few things and would love viewing your vids to see if your thoughts coincide with mine. Hope you don't hold back information on the ' infallible swing' and I guarantee you will be the number one site on You Tube Thanks

Andrew Linch You have inspired me to unlock the secret the pros do with their opposing hands throughout their golf swing. I know it works incredibly well. Thank you. Check it out for yourself and if you can see what I discovered are the true feelings the opposing hands must do in a golf swing; feel free to spread the good word yourself. Cheers

Hi William at around 3.00 minutes , I make referance to the the differance, ie Ernest was hands led, Manuel was hands on back swing upper arm on down swing, hope this helps , best Andrew

I'm not a fan of using the 'throwing a ball' analogy as it is a learned motor skill. Those adults who grew up in cultures lacking in ball sports can be terrible at throwing a ball. And despite it's apparent simplicity, there are big variations in throwing skills amongst humans. Furthermore, once the hands come together in the golf swing it is a game changer neurophysiologically.

But you're hands are forward and not in the center as they teach

Very true, and I am not using hickory shafts as Ernest Jones did, the concept is the same, even in his later years Manuel de la Torre relaxed his views on club position, due to modern equipment,thanks for watching.

I love the Manuel de la Torre method, but I don't see you doing it. Your hands are forward, your grip is strong and the ball is not in the middle of your stance. Why? that's not what he taught. I have read the book too and I play this way. It is a great way to play for any single handicapper with a bad back, which I got from playing square to square. I'm curious as to why you are playing this way.
@MrLeftyno1
@MrLeftyno1 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gale, mainly because if I deviate from my natural grip and my hands slightly forward, I will open the club face and flick at the ball, later in life Manuel did let students deviate from weak grip and everyball centre as indivialism has to be taken into account in each golfer, but if it works for you thats great, thanks for watching.

@@MrLeftyno1 I agree with the individualism, at 71 I have seen a lot of great swings that are different. Obviously some of them work really well ie. Jack Nicholas versus Lee Trevino. But, I think I like Manuel de la Torre and Ernest Jones because they are more upright and that seems to be easier on my back. Take care Andrew and keep playing great golf.

More than likely due to poor rotation and also trying to speak to camera and swing at same time , you know what they say about a 2 minded man is weak in all his ways LoL, Thanks for pointing out.

Plenty of people throw a ball poorly, especially with their non-dominant hand. Golf is not the same, unfortunately. That doesn't mean it has to be complicated, but if it were as easy as "just swing smoothly" everyone would be a good player, and that's clearly not the case. I have a literal library of golf books, instructional and otherwise, by great players, coaches, and others you've likely never heard of. There are contradictions even in the fundamentals, there's very little technique-wise that's agreed upon. The physics is settled, we know what's going on, launch monitors have solved that. But the bio-mechanics to make it happen? There's little agreement, if any.

Some people do indeed throw a ball badly, I;ve seen it also seen people who cant punch, but they all live happy and full lifes, . So many books on the golf swing that to be honest it can confuse instead of help people, the Ernest Jones technique is simple, and to me , the average guy who can not throw well and could not punch his way out of a paper bag would enjoy the game of golf so much more by using the above technique.

If you cant throw a ball properly you are going to struggle with a lot of sports including golf! As for the non -dom hand I can now play table tennis at least 50% with my non dom hand.25 yrs ago i couldnt have even made contact let alone hold a rally.So either Ive got a terrible illness or 10 yrsof golf has improved my left hand co-ordination.

Richard Croft check for my update on how pros uses their opposing hands on the golf swing base on physics. Once you get the correct pushing and pulling feeling in you opposing hands as I prescribe it will make swinging the golf club a lot more effective for you. Besides what have you got to looses. Nothing. And possibly everything to gain. Cheers

you're taking " just swing the club head "= no money for instructors and still adding layers of instruction on to it. grip, stance, posture, this body part leads, that body part stays stable and completely break it down so you can "teach" it to someone. as has the golf industry in general. as you said the pga didn't like it. just swing the club head and hit the stationary ball doesn't make any money. too easy. once one focuses on body parts during an athletic event, tennis, ping pong, hammering a nail, you're in an endless cycle of disapointment. IMHO

Hi Tom, I am only teaching the same way Manuel de la torre taught, as to just give a golf club to a new golfer and say just swing it over one shoulder and swing it over the other, is as helpful as throwing the car Keys to a novice driver and just saying, just keep the car straight. Remember the grip stance & posture are Static, the golf swing is a movement so get the static right and then the swinging motion can happen.
