We need to call Marina out. She really doesn't have any shame teaching us incorrect English. I even paid for one of her ebooks, and it was a rip-off. At that time, I would have paid for her course, but fortunately, I didn't have the money.

I feel YT should do something about it. People are trusting those folks who claim to be an authority on something which they are clearly not. Some others end up giving money to them. It's painful to watch and shame that those 'educator's' have not the slightest of shame. But also, listeners should question the source and not fall for superficial glib and Charme. Time is limited and people should not waste it learning something wrong. So far it seems around 9 Mn. people or how many follows she's got learned incorrect English. Great! Why not outsource the teaching to somebody who really knows or get their input at least before publishing the video to ensure it will portray correct content. This would also pay some respect to the learners.

Marina speaks English at a level that allows her to work like a quirky realter, a hot saleswoman or a sharp manager. She could even teach applied mathematics with this level. But not to present herself as a professional English teacher. Insolence is the second happiness.

Unfortunately most of school English teachers in the world speak much (muuuuuuuch!) worse English than she. Because in countries where English is not the official language, most teachers at schools are not native English speakers. I was surprised when I realized how bad a lot of them are 😢 Even worse than me 😳 But at school you don't have another options. And it is still a big question (for me) why people watch all these teachers in internet. Here you can choose a native speaker.

Hello! The expression "to be in the mood" means to feel like doing something or to have the right frame of mind for it. It's always "in the mood," not "in a mood," when you're talking about feeling inclined to do something specific. "In a mood" generally means experiencing a particular emotion, but it's not followed by an activity. You can use "to be in the mood for something" when you're talking about a noun (like an activity or thing) or "to be in the mood to do something" when you're referring to a verb (an action you feel like doing). Here are some examples: 1. I'm in the mood for ice cream. (noun) 2. She's in the mood for dancing tonight. (gerund used as a noun) 3. They're not in the mood to go out because of the bad weather. (infinitive verb) 4. He's in the mood to watch a movie rather than read a book. (infinitive verb) 5. We're in the mood for something spicy; how about ordering Thai food? (noun) 6. Are you in the mood to discuss the project now, or should we wait until tomorrow? (infinitive verb) 7. After the long week, I'm really in the mood to just relax and do nothing. (infinitive verb) 8. She wasn't in the mood for jokes after what happened. (noun) Remember, the mood you're in can be influenced by many factors like the environment, your emotional state, or even the weather.

What is your definition of incompetent? By definition, if your American version of English is horrible because it violates most of the rules (pronunciation and grammar) then your English, using your word is "broken." Marina needs a good American English teacher to teach her English. Sadly, in Houston, a lot of people speak English like Marina even some who were born and raised in the U.S. To me, it is a sad commentary on the educational system and IMMIGRATION policies.

@@newtonmoon ikzaaaactly! :D it took me a while to realize that good vocabulary + good grammar play more important role than pronunciation in most of cases. It seems to me, what she intended to say was, “I think my English sounds more American.” Nevertheless, if she speaks impromptu in her videos, she is doing a good job, better than 99% of non-native English teachers worldwide. She's not doing a good job because she has over 9 million non-native English subscribers who are exposed to her mistakes. I believe that after a certain point, she should have started paying someone to review her numerous mistakes. She needs to be held accountable for her errors. There's nothing wrong with speaking with mistakes; the problem arises when she has such a large reach to audiences who don't know the language while she self-proclaims as the best teacher.

I'd say that, at least, 95% of her subscribers are from Russia, that's why they trust and believe in what she says😊.

She speaks pretty well considering she's not a native speaker... but making a video on how to pronounce words and teaching the wrong pronunciation (17:42) is just crazy

According to Oxford dictionary, the structure "in the mood for (doing) something" is correct. Could you please explain this to me?
